I really need some help/advice for DD1's behaviour. Each thing on it's own doesn't seem to big a problem, but looking at the big picture I'm starting to worry.
First thing, she'll be 5 in Sept and she is still not using the toilet properly. Majority of the time she just wont go. She has been checked by a Dr and is going to a clinic, but she actually seems to have gotten worse. Even the clinic nurse is running out of ideas.
She is also a cronic nail biter. She is to the point of pulling the skin off the tops of her fingers, making them all bleed.
She also seems to lack concentration, she seems to forget what she is doing half way through.
She is a very smart articulate girl, but I am starting to worry. I stopped work a few weeks ago and I really thought things would improve, but no such luck.
Any advice would be appreciated, or if anyone knows were I could go for advice.
Not sure what the issue could be but it could be a case of anxiety which often comes with giftedness. I'd maybe speak to a child psychiatrist... maybe your GP will refer you so you can claim the rebate? Specialists can really shed lights on things... i remember when we were confused about our DDs behavioural issues alot of light was shed when we saw an audiologist... explained so much! the sense of relief at knowing why was great. Goddluck... let us know how she goes.
