Sweetpea its so frustrating, even my own husband use to think she was just normal until he seen more of the behaviour, he is against me taking her to the peads for assesment but I went against his will as i know that this behaviour is far from normal.

Aww thanks girls You made me feel really good as a teacher as sometimes I really doubt myself and wonder if I am doing enough.

BP- I know it would have been hard to go against your DH's will about seeing a pead but you are doing the right thing. I think the earlier the intervention the more it can help the child and thats what the aim is of getting help.

DD's symtoms are.

Growling, screaming & random weird noises.
Biting, hitting, punching, kicking, slapping,lying & stealing,
She kicks things in tantrums.
She is constantly moving even while sitting watching TV she will move & wriggle & occasionaly make her weird noises.
She hurts herself,
She cant walk she runs everywhere, cant maintain a conversation because her mind wonders.
didnt walk till 18months or talk till 2years,
very very emotional.

butterflypirate, except for the walking/talking development (my DD1 walked at 9 months... talked at 2.3 years). Those symptoms are a lot like my DD1. She has high functioning autism, and with that severe sensory integration disorder.

We have been doing over a year of OT, some speech pathology and a bit of psychological behavioural work and she's a different child. We haven't had a meltdown in ages. I can not encourage hard enough the need for early intervention and getting them into a good OT as soon as you can.

There have been suggestions of ADHD and ODD, but we are focusing on the autism and sensory issues, and you know what? The others tend to not be as bad now.

WOW I just read through a full page blurb and im stunned it sounds like my daughter all over, yet she has a few more symptoms not assosiated with SPD. Thank you so much for that
