Question Tell me about your boobs and your cycle - TMI required - please!

    Hi girls,

    I am SO confused!!!

Brief info: 10.5mths post-BCP, waiting for AF to return, do not ovulate, currently having acupuncture to treat this...

I thought that I felt ovulation pain on Tuesday last week, which got me very excited. So if this is true and I'm having a 28 day cycle (a presumption since I normally don't HAVE cycles) then my period would be due on this coming Tuesday. So on Tuesday of this week my boobs got REALLY sore, and were sore until today - they are hardly tender at all now... So now I don't know what is going on! I thought they would be sore until AF arrived?

How long prior to AF are your boobs sore? Do they even get sore??

Mine hurt around ovulation or just after. I usually have to wear a bra to bed to help with them not moving and the pain.
They usually hurt until AF arrives or a couple of days later.

Mine would always be really sore for a week before AF. So much so, that getting them was a relief. The month I fell pregnant they acted exactly the same...but ended up staying that way for about 10 weeks or more because of the BFP!! Very sore, I couldnt lay on them. Also I went from a 12C to a 14D in bras! I joke with DP that I will probably be a DD by the time my milk comes in.

    Waiting waiting waiting

Thanks for all the answers girls!
Turns out later on the day I wrote the original psot - they got sore again! And are still tender today - plus my skin has broken out (which used to happen slightly prior to AF on BCP but not as bad as it is right now).

So fingers crossed - everything is pointing towards AF arriving, hopefully tomorrow if I'm on a 28 day cycle on O was when I thought it was... so FINGERS CROSSED!!!

Oh also apparently I've had a wee bit of pms as DH told me "Well you better be getting your period otherwise you've turned into a b*tch!!!" - ooopsy...

Mine were only sore for a short period of time a couple of days before AF arrived. I never knew when i ovulated (i always wished that my pee would change colour at ovulation time or something) so i knew. My boobs werent even saw around when i got BFP.. actually they havent been sore or grown much (i am expecting a sudden growth any day now!)

hey mrsp, seems like we are in a similar situation...scary we are same age and got married same month, same year lol GOOD NEWS TODAY FOR ME! Looks like AF has returned .. i just this morning had brown-ness (sorry TMI) and boy oh boy was i happy! i sent DH a text and he called me to say "that is the best news i have had all day" .... i am hoping it is the start of true AF and not just spotting... oh well i am just so stoked that my body is at least giving me signs that it might finally regulating itself

I am due to see my doc on tuesday regarding the results of my blood tests (check hormone levels) so i know he too will be very happy i have started bleeding again

i saw my naturopath on friday and she gave me some pills to try, said i could take these pills regardless of what comes up in my blood results.... ironically they have vitex in them so i am starting to think that these pills have helped...hmm strange but its just too much of a coincidence (have only taken 6 of these pills)

Anyway keep me posted on your progress... hoping your AF returns soon for you

My boobs get HUGE before i get AF... esp since coming off BCP's in March... and they hurt!!! Hence that's why i thought i was pregnant a few days ago (but i'm not, AF did arrive) Must be very frustrating for you not having cycles at all in 10mths? thats a long time... you poor thing....

since coming off BCP's my cycles have been 48CD, 28CD, 33CD.... hoping to be 28CD all the time now....!!!

    Good luck

Well no good news yet.. still waiting.
It seems if I did ovulate around that previous post - well it didn't lead to AF.
I've now given up on the naturopath and just started taking chinese herbs (along with my acupuncture) last week.
So now it's officially been 12 months with no AF.

I guess 'good' things come to those who wait, right? In the mean time all my friends continue to get pg and give birth - it's not easy!!

I'm just about to start a new job so at least that's given me something else to focus on, plus we're planning a nice tropical holiday for next year.

Sasha - congrats on getting AF! It's nice to know that it CAN come back! And yes, very freaky with our similarities!!

hey mrsp i can totally understand how you feel. my best friend has just told me she is PG ... had the "if it happens it happens" attitude and my manager is 16wks
(fell on her honeymoon obs not planned) so i am hearing ya when friends around you are getting PG .. chin up, it will happen and probably the month after AF returns... i am for you.

A holiday sounds like what you need and who knows you may fall then! i know its hard but soemtimes when we worry too much its almost like our bodies do the opposite. I know i was like that waiting for AF, got frustrated every day. Now it is back i am doing reverse physcology on myself and trying to not let it consume my life... but i understand we are women and it is hard... guys have it so easy!

Have you had blood tests done to check hormone levels - i cant rememer sorry. My doc mentioned to me if my bloods showed hormone levels low that the next step would be to have an u/s. As it has been 12 months for you, i would definitely look into have bloods done if you havent already!

I am sure that these new pills (called Gynovite) my naturopath gave me last friday have helped to bring AF back.... they have 2.5mg of Vitex in them plus cramp bark and ginseng korean root??? my understanding is that Vitex helps to regulate your cycle and elevate progesterone levels (you will not ovulate until you have a certain level of progesterone)..... maybe you should look into whether vitex is relevant to you and whether it would help??
    Worth a try i reckon!

Sarajane, i am in the fitness industry - instruct RPM & BodyPump hence probably the longer delay in my AF returning... You might not have such a long delay, hard to know cause every woman is different!

Anyways sorry for long post... i will leave it here lol

    Keep us posted mrsp .....
