I have the same problem. My CM and cervix position never match up with my temperature rise. At the moment I can't answer your question on which you should pay attention to for fertility. I do, however, have an appointment with a FS on the 12th and that was one of the questions I was going to ask him. I can let you know what he says after that if you are interested.
CM signs will increase as you approach O. Temperature rises after O. In my experience, they should not be in sync.
CM most reliable for TTC because it helps to get the timing right because you need to DTD as you approach O.
A temperature rise only indicates that O has occurred - it can happened days later - 3 to 5 days wouldn't be uncommon - so you may have actually O'd earlier than you think. A temp rise on CD24 does not indicate that you are in the midst of O - it happened days ago. You cannot use a temp rise for timing purposes because it has already happened and you would have missed the boat, so to speak.
Symptoms sound hopeful. Keeping fingers crossed and hope you get your BFP.
Ticklish - do you know if it's common to have a fertile cervix (high soft open) during AF? That's the only time mine is ever not firm and closed, the position moves around heaps, but it's only ever soft and open during AF. As for my CM that's just all over the place. I'll have water CM a day after AF leaves, then it'll be sticky or creamy for a bit, then watery again, then I'll be dry. This cycle I had my watery CM on CD7, CD16 then was dry (and I mean DESERT DRY) on CD17 then had EWCM on CD18, then was dry again CD19, then had various levels of creamy and sticky up till today CD26 which is when I had my temperature rise. The only thing that seems to be constant for me is that AF will arrive 10-11 days after my temperature rise.
Sorry to blast you with so much information. I am just getting so frustrated with my body. It has me jumping through hoops. As I said earlier, am really hoping the FS can give me some information about it all.
A week or two ago there was a thread on gender selection and a link was provided that got me to a website. The website was mainly on different methods of gender swaying, but it had results of a survey where people used different methods of determining ovulation (temp, fluid, O-pain etc) and then the gender of the child.
If you believe in Shettles method, i 'think' the results indicate that Basal Temp is best indicator of ovulation, but i would be interested in hearing your interpretation.
Sorry taleutia, I don't have any answers on the cervix position thing - I never got the hang of that and I am done with the TTC.
As CM variations - it can happen for some subjective reasons - might be higher than you can check so that type you are looking for is there but not noticeable. I seem to remember there are some better times to check than others - vaguely remember something about CM flowing better after a twinkle (sorry if that is TMI). I remember just noting the general pattern of it without getting to hung up on it at any one time as observations can vary during the day. If you get AF regularly then it sounds like you are O'ing and are in for a chance. As Prof Robert Winston says the only real trick is to DTD and do it often - or words to that effect. Sounds like your luteal phase of your cycle is a normal length and O would occur 11 to 14 days prior to AF's arrival. Anyway, hope you get some answers soon.
