How many days does your 4 year old do at kinder and how many hours on those days?
I understand that many places do 3 days one week, 2 the next.
How does this work?
Thanks
DS1 goes to CC 2 days a week and is in a kinder program, he also attends sessional kinder at my choice due to fact next to school he will go too.
Sessional kinder is 4 sessions a week of 3.75 hrs at our kinder but DS1 does 3 days of 3.75 hrs due to fact he is at CC the other. Sessions are 0815 - 1200 or 1245- 1630. Each group does alternate swap in hours.
My dd does 2 days one week and 3 days the next at kindy. So Monday, Thursday and every second Wednesday 8:45-2:50 on all days.
ETA some of our friends at different schools to us do 2 and a half days each week rather the the 2 days one week, 3 the next. I much prefer the set up we have as the 'half' day only works out to be about 2 hours and sounds like a pita to me.

Ds does 4 1/2 days (11:45am - 3pm) afternoon sessions (only ones available as I was slack with enrolment!) then alternate Friday morning sessions. (8:30am- 12:30pm)
You're referring to the guidelines for kindy in Qld and the 15 hours requirement. It all depends on how many hours your teacher works per day. If your teacher does a 7.5 hour day, then you could just do 2 days per week, but if it's less, you may have to do a min of 3 or 5 per fortnight. Private kindys often do the 2/3 thing and run 2 groups, so one week your child will do 2 days and the next 3.
Long day care kindys are usually different.
We've done 15hrs a week here in the NT for a long time. We do 2x 6hr days and one 3hr morning. All starting at 8.30am or in line with the preschool's primary school.
Some also still give the option of either 5x 3hr mornings or 5x 3hr afternoon session.
My DD won't be at 4yr kinder until next year but with the 15 hour weeks from this year I assume she will be on the same schedule which is 3 x5 .hr days from 9am to 2pm.
