Hi ladies!
I'll have DD attending 3yo kinder from mid next term(once she actually turns 3). We are struggling for numbers out here in the bush, so we're being allowed to send children who don't fit the proper school age criteria (DD misses out on qualifying by 13 days).
She'll do 7 terms of 3yo kinder - 3 this year and then 4 next year. She really needs it. She's quite bright and hasn't had a lot of time with other children and barely any time away from me and DS. It will be great for her.
ZF - Good to hear your first day went well! I will have hassles with DD when she goes, but hopefully because she's been to the kinder with her brother when I've had duty, she'll be a bit more comfortable.
I also have DS who is doing 4yo kinder at the same place this year, so the teacher will be well and truly sick of me very soon. haha
So glad to hear your DD had a good day and she didn't want to come home - always a good sign! My DD went to her first 4yo session by herself. She was happy when I picked her up, said she had a good day & made a friend!
Niadalla - It's great that they allow your DD to go early! She sounds like the stimulation will be really beneficial for her!
Wow. I can actually post in here now. I didn't know they had 3yr old preschool here until last week. I thought they only did it for 4yrs like when my eldest was little but that was years ago. Lol. I didn't expect to be going straight away this term. I thought he'd be on the waiting list and possibly start next term but when we handed in the forms this morning they said how about thursday. I was only expecting a half day or so this year and full days next year too.
1. How many hours is your LO going to do? A Full day on Thursdays. 9am till 3pm.
2. Do they wear a uniform? No.
3. What do you need to provide? Morning tea, fruit for fruit break, lunch. They have sunscreen but if you can put it on them before they go it helps. Hat.
4. What are your expectations? I'm not really sure what my expectations are yet.
5. Are you excited, scared, nervous? I'm all of the above. I've been there, done it all before but it still doesn't get easier. I'm on the verge of tears thinking about it right now. He's my baby. lol.
6. Is your LO excited, scared, nervous? He doesn't seem to be so far. Not sure if it'll be a different story when I go to leave on thursday though. I have a feeling he'll be fine when I go to leave then maybe be upset when I've actually left and be asking for me.
7. Does your LO have friends going too? Not sure yet. They only run the 3yr old room on 2 days or something and today wasn't one of them.
8. Have you had a LO do 3yr old before, what should we expect? My eldest only went to preschool at 4yrs old so this starting early business is a little new to me, plus it was years ago I went through all that before.
Hopefully everyone else's kids are going well with their kindy/preschool.
Ohhh LC i'm the same, we have about 6 of the giant poster sized painting, and about 8 A4 sheets of glueing
I'm thinking i might need to buy a MASSIVE folder or tub to keep them in just for this year and she can use some of the big paintings as wrapping paper.
Tomorrow is the first day on her own for my big girl, now that she is officially three. We went for one session at then start of the year when I stayed with her but now she is going on her own. Sob sob! My big girl!
She will be going 2hrs Tuesday afternoon and 3hrs Friday afternoon. She is very excited - but not quite as excited as det's DS, who has been asking after her every day apparently
lol yup he has been kissing her photo he is waiting for her! and their hooks are next to each other so he has been asking where she is every time we go.
Mind you he will probably just ignore her tommorow lol
hey Op - when he saw her with your sis last week he wished her happy valentines day and gave her a big hug. he did have a love heart choc for her and Ms Lou but he ate them before we got there lol!
ah well the sentiment was there lol
