They can do full days but only at childcare, where the long day care is kind of blended in to kinder. It's a bit confusing. DD is currently attending the "kinder room" at childcare three days a week (dropped off at 7.30am, goes up to kinder room around 9.30am until about 4pm, then back to the family room until pick up) and then having separate kinder sessions on the other two days.

Some might say that is overkill but I'm planning on taking them out of the childcare once I finish work so I wanted to be sure she was already in a kinder program.

Think this is probably the best place to ask seeing as you're all there this year!

How many kinder's did you put your LO's name down at and when did you find out if they've been accepted? This is for 3-year-old.

I was told that about 17 applications had been received for about 22-24 places. That was before I got DD's in. Not sure if I should try for a second choice or not. TIA!

I put DD down at three. From what I'd heard (yes det I'm looking at you ) the competition is pretty fierce in my neck of the woods so I went with three. We got the first choice so no dramas. I think you'll be fine!

1 & for K i asked them when i picked up M at Kinder if they had any spots left & she started the following week
They use to let you know Aug/Sept but since the new 4yo Kinder hours are coming most Kinders will let you know by July in case you need to apply to another Kinder.

Depends on the way the council runs it I think, we put down the names of 3, however I put my form in late (no recommended ) and missed out on our 1st choice but it's all worked itself out in the end! The forms do get looked at in my council as first in first served so as soon as the enrolment forms go out I would get them in!

Thanks This is for 3 year old, so direct to the kinder, not through the council (holding DD back 12 months).

OP - You know where we've put DD's name down, so not really a high demand area. Hoping we'll be right because I really prefer this one over the other choice.

DD who is attending a year early, absolutely LOVES it! She's thriving!! She's really come out of her shell sine attending kinder and isn't upset when I leave at all which was a concern when she started. She also doesn't seem like the youngest which is great. She's a lucky girl being able to do 2 years worth!

How old is she now ~*Niadella* ~ DD2 would happily stay at kinder with DD1 if i let her, the teachers think she's so cute & gave her a t-shirt to wear for kinder duty.
She runs around and plays with all the kids so she is REALLY ready for it next year

Ny 3 year old loves it, but still not sure I will hold her back. Yes there have been some attention problems and some general 'defiance' (teachers words not mine), but she still has 2 terms to go, and I think intellectually she will be ready for 4 year old kindy.

ZF she just turned 3 a few weeks ago. She missed the cut off in Vic by 13 days and the very small country preschool needed the numbers so the day she turned 3 they allowed her to attend. It's very good for her.
