Thanks everyone. I am really happy with the centre and the carers, they've all taken her for cuddles and she seems to love them.

She's 8 months old, so I do explain everything to her but I'm not sure exactly how much she understands. So I'd planned on giving her to a carer, giving her a kiss and telling her I love her, that she's going to stay for a little play and I'll come get her in 2 hours.

I definitely get the point about going back making it worse. I'm more worried if she's absolutely hysterical - I think I can handle "small" crying, but if it's where she's seriously crying and reaching out, it's going to tear me up to walk away

I guess that's why we do these orientation days! I think there's somewhere I'll be able to spy on her, that's a good idea.
