My DD had a clicky hip which was found at birth. We were referred to an Orthopedic surgeon and she had monthly ultrasounds up until she was 6 months old. turns out it was nothing sinister it was just an "immature development" of the socket over her hip bone. she ended up having to have an x-ray at 7 months (they don't do x-rays until after 6 months when the bones show up more clearly) and it showed that it had corrected itself and there was no displaysia

BekZ - DD was born with clicky hips and she was diagnosed with hip dysplacia from 7 weeks. Your nurse is right in sending you to a doctor. Try not to panic, I know it's hard, but it's best to get it checked out as soon as you can. It could be a number of other things, but this is what they'll be checking for. See what your doctor says, you'll probably be sent for an ultrasound to see what's going on. The best advice I can give you right now, and all of the other BB ladies in the hip dysplacia support group thread will tell you the same thing - DON'T LET YOUR DOCTOR BRUSH IT OFF. Too many doctors ignore the signs of it and with bubs, the sooner it's treated, the better the outcome. Get the ultrasound to be sure. Thanks for every bodies replies. I truly appreciate your advice. We've had an x-ray and all seems just fine, or at least that is what I read in the report.

Glad to hear all is OK Bek. D had clicky hips but thankfully they resolved without any intervention. Probably due to the time he spent breech and then transverse.
