I second MooGoo scalp cream. It contains anti-fungal oils like lavendar which you need to have to stop it coming back. Olive oils etc will help you loosen and remove it but won't stop it returning. Go to the MooGoo website and read about what they have to say about cradle cap. Very informative.

    Thanks Guys

BabyMama and Trish - just gave him a bath and used the bicarb paste - it has really softened it - will do a few more applications over the next few days - seems to be working a treat

Bella had it really bad for a while there. I hated the thought of using any oil on her hair/head, so each time I washed her hair I would run pf those fine nit combes through her hair and amazingly it picked up the craddle cap without any fuss or pain to her. Only took a couple of weeks and it was all gone.

The bi-carb will help remove it but won't stop it from returning. Wikipaedia also has some good info on cradle cap.... about how olive oils etc also help remove it but then apparently end up feeding the micro-organisms that make it come back.
