So a few of you know that Miss M has had constipation lately - so we've tried the coloxyl, brown sugar, water during the day - and they have been a bit better - ie, she hasn't been screaming or squealing in pain when passing.
Just before - she did the high pitched squeal again (and I so hate it, breaks my heart!) and we checked her nappy, it was quite a hard poo - but is looking like it might change soon, if that makes sense? Like, the hard bit was at the beginning, not at the end of it.
But - when DH wiped her bum, he noticed a little blistery bit just above her actual bum hole. Like, just at the end of the crinkly skin bit?? (lol.. sorry for TMI!!) So I'm guessing its a 'roid?
How do you treat them in babies??? I know how you treat them in adults... but babies?
poor miss m...hope paw paw works...give her cuddles for me. xxx
not nice seeing her in pain..has she started solids?? that could be the reason for constipation. xx
mel it worked for me!! before and after miss A!
i never thought of it till my m/w suggested it for the roids! i always thought it was for just skin ailments!!!
have you tried anything round that part when she needs a poo to help with the pain...like sudocrem?? sorry if tellin you how to suck eggs.
if you can ask the pharmacy if they have anything to help.
xx
sorry forgot she wasnt 6 months....hasnet she had constipation for a while?? there must be a reason. if it carries on id take her the drs or back to them if shes been already xx
Just a note about paw paw - I heard somewhere that it can cause thrush so maybe just be very cautious when putting it on that it's only going where it's needed and nowhere else!
Um also at risk of TMI, if the 'blistery' thing is just outside the er.. hole... then it may be a tiny anal fissure rather than a 'roid - as I understand it 'roids are bulging vessels just INSIDE... Treatment is the same though so it doesn't really matter which it is. HTH
Michael - at the moment, just a bit of extra water during the day. The homeopath wanted me to take her off everything and try the soy formula - and give it 3 days and then start introducing coloxyl again.
So the 3 days were up yesterday. I'll probably start with the coloxyl again I guess, I like that idea better than the brown sugar, and I didn't like the effect last time with the prune juice!!
