Glenny, how's Charlie going now? I'm hoping no news is good news? How is feeding going and weaning off some of the meds?
I hope things are continuing well for you all
Sorry girls- been hectic around here trying to get into the swing of things. Charlie has been home a month now, except for a quick two night return to hospital when his warfarin level dropped dangerously low. His feeding isn't going too well, he doesn't like oral feeding and we struggle to get him to take anything by mouth. It's disappointing as I had hoped we would be rid of the feeding tube by now but I think I need to get used to the idea that he will have it for a while yet. The drs are happy with his weight gain though so that's good. They were a bit concerned as he put on 400 gms one week and they were worried about fluid retention as that can be a sign that the heart is failing again but turns out he just thought he had some catching up to do. We have a visit with his cardiologist on Friday and hoping we will get the all clear and might not need to visit again for another month.
Charlie is a beautiful baby. He smiles pretty constantly and is sleeping well. 40 min cat naps during the day but only one feed overnight, usually at midnight. The other night he slept from 6-4 without waking for a feed! I am falling more in love with this boy every day!!!!
That's great news Glenny. Fantastic to hear that Charlie is home with you all where he belongs. I hope you, your DH and your little miss are back in some semblance of normality with your little boy home, and that life is looking up for you all.
That's awesome news. I was beginning to worry, when we hadn't heard an update in awhile. So glad that he's at home now. When/if you're ever up for it, a group of us 'Due in May/Babies Born in May' have a group fb page happening if you want to join us, just pm us for the details. Hope that you're managing to get some rest now, take care
What a fabulous post to be able to read that Charlie is home safe and sound. Glenny your little man is absolutely amazing!!! Enjoy being a family of 4 and loving every minute of having your boy home
Hoping feeding will pick up soon. Good luck with your next cardiologist appt
