My children are losing their hair. Please help!

so glad that the wig has brought out her smile again. I know from my theatre days wigs are best put on by putting the front part against the forhead and then pull on down to the back. mmmm its a bit hard to explain but I bet there are youtube videos that would give demos. I bet with practice you'll get it on really quickly soon

Thank you for that, she wanted to take it off when she was at nans house, and when I put it back on I was struggling a little, I got there in the end, but I was questioning if I was doing it correctly, I didn't even give that much thought in the shop, I watched the lady put it on and it looked so easy to do, she explained to me how to make sure it was on straight and so on. She told me to come back in a few weeks to get the special shampoo, she gave us a brush and a stand, and said if we have any problems, just give her a call, she was lovely, she said after about 6 months it might need some tidying up, she said just bring her in and they will fix it up, no extra charge.. they even gave me 10% off the cost of the wig

But the ultimate, is definately seeing the smile on her face

... YES for sure you only use the special shampoo she recommends, and yes it will need tidying up in time. If it's synthetic fibre it won't last as long as natural fibre (but then natural is heaps more expensive) ... synthetic are fine as long as you take good care of it you could get longer use out of it then they suggest ... BUT hey lets hope your sweet DD won't need it that long and that her actual hair has a better change to come

(P.S - that's fantastic that the lady won't charge you to tidy it up )

Hey everyone

Our thread is back up again...

I went to the hospital the other day to get the results from the biopsy.... the results from the magical test that they told me will give me all my answers... But the tests have been pretty much pointless and I still have no answers... The results from the biopsy suggest that my DS is pulling his hair out, even though his hair is not long enough to be pulled out. The results suggest that my DD is not necessarily pulling hers out, but there is nothing to indicate what the actual cause is...

So it is completely opposite to what was suggested before the biopsy when they thought that DD was pulling hers out but DS was caused by something else.

They have ruled out Lupus and Collagen issues.

I feel like I am wasting mine and my childrens time with all this and we are back at square one. They have given a prescription for the same cream which they gave me months ago to use, which hadn't helped.

I am slowly loosing faith in the medical system, as I had to take my DD who is nearly 11 to the urology clinic at the same hospital. She has been wetting the bed everynight... They sent me an SMS the other day to remind me about the appointment and said it is important to attend because they have booked her in for tests... When I told the doctor about the message, he had no idea what I was talking about. It wasn't until I showed him the text message that he bothered to even check the system. Must be a mix up he says, there are no tests booked. I am sent away with a prescription for tablets that have already been trialled and double dosed for 4 months with no success at all... I have been trying to find answers for bedwetting for 2 years now, dealing with the hospital for about 8 months, and still have gotten nowhere. I have been dealing with hair loss for over a year now, through the hospital for over 6 months, and have gotten nowhere... What does one do???

Our peadiatrician is even more confused than I am... !

Aww Danni - Your poor DD and DS what a horrible issue to have at this time of their life - When fitting in, is the harderst thing to do - Brought a smile to my eye when you spoke about the smile your DD had when you put the wig on :-)

Re: the bed wetting could be from all the stress of going to the doctors and hospitals and needing to wear a wig etc.
But in saying that have the two been looked at together to see if they are both caused from the same thing?!? (Dunno just putting ideas out there)
