pain stop night..

I would give it to her and without hesitation. I have given both Kameron and Lachlan pain stop before when they have got really sick with tonsillitis/ear infections and we couldn't get our script filled till 9am the next morning. 24hr chemists are few and far between here.

I took a 12 year olds dose of pain stop once when i had no other option and it knocked me out cold for 3 hours! (When I was 24) Thank god a good friend was with me and she hung out and looked after DD with her kids while I slept.
Having said that, i gave it to my DD when she was 5 and had chicken pox so badly it hurt her to lay down and nothing else was working. She felt better but hardly even got drowsy!
Different for everyone, stick to the reccommended dose and hope she feels better soon!

well it seemed to take the pain away way more effectively, she still woke as per normal for her at the moment but wasnt as distressed as she has been. im actually glad it didnt seem to make her drowsy as i was worried about her!

Just to make people aware, Pain Stop is really quite safe, and honestly, the night-time one probably won't make your child that drowsy. It's got a little dose of antihistamine in it (which is what makes them sleepy, and is the difference between pain stop night and pain stop day) which helps dry up runny noses and allergy symptoms, and other than that, just paracetamol and codeine. It's not honestly that much stronger than plain paracetamol - some children don't respond to the codeine at all.

I've used it before, without any qualms. Adequate pain relief is REALLY important.
