I can't remember where I posted this about Iain teeth but will post here to update a little.

I was concerned about the brown staining across the 4 top teeth. I noticed it starting at about 12 months. It slowly got more visible. I spoke with a dentist who told me it was early childhood caries because he was breastfed. Of course I scoffed at that suggestion. I was then told it was because we are on tank water & no fluoride in the water.

FINALLY I got him in to see a pead dental specialist who says it is actually a developmental issue. She things that early in my pg I could have had a cold or similar that disrupted the development of the teeth buds, She says it like a time line etched into his baby teeth, like the rings in a tree.
Says Nothing I can do, but have them cleaned regular to minimise the staining that is attracted to the defect in the surface of the tooth. She said his teeth are actually very healthy & there is no sign of cavity's or anything like that. Just said if it becomes an issue for him when he is a little older we can have a white coating applied to hide the marks.

It makes perfect sense. From what I have read the baby teeth buds develop by 6 weeks. I was really sick with a nasty throat infection at around 5 weeks. I had a temp of 40.9 & was just generally pretty ill.
So it would have been that I think.

Is funny too, because Iain also had hernia's & funny ear crinkles when he was born. I wonder if its all related to that throat infection!?
