My DD (21 months) has been vomiting for two weeks now. She is vomiting once or twice a day and usually it is everything in her stomach. She has had one bout of runny poos and the rest of the time pebbly hard poos. SHe has a low grade fever on and off and has been grabbing her nappy and telling me "poos" while crying (she says poos for wees as well.. Go figure)

Dr 1 - says urine infection and ear infection. Prescribes amoxy-clav (15 mls a day per 3 doses) and asks me to get a wee sample. She is getting sicker so we take her to another dr for a second opinion.

Dr 2 - says a virus. Ears are fine. Tells me the antibiotics should have been 4mls a day per 2 doses and the large dose is making her continue to vomit. Says wee sample is not needed and to stop medication. After two days she is still vomiting and not herself so I ring the medical centre. Dr 2 is on leave so she sees Dr 3

Dr 3 - says she is constipated after feeling her tummy and that is what is making her vomit. Tells me to use parachoc for a week to see if that helps. Two days later she exorcist spews in the service station and I call healthcare direct for advice as it is after hours. They put me on the phone to a gp.

Dr 4 (seriously wth) - very concerned she is still vomiting randomly and isn't interested in playing. Suggests it could be her appendix or urine infection and not constipation an tells me to take her to emergency and request tests. We head off to emergency.

She is screaming and clenching her tummy at this point and pulling away from me. The nurse gives her panadol and she falls asleep.

Dr 4 - examines her and says her ears are red but antibiotics don't help ear infections. Says a blood test isn't needed and she is probably just teething and vomiting once a day for two weeks isn't too alarming. They give her hydrolyte icy poles and send us on our way

Well I am alarmed! She has just vomited again! Only once a day for two weeks isn't ok right?

I am considering taking her to the children's hospital emergency tomorrow to demand a blood test or is this me just being a panicky first time mum??? Every dr has been all "first child right?". I thought I was being very calm after she has been spewing for two weeks! And she has lost a kilo!

Sorry if this is rambling, I haven't slept this entire time...
