Nettie - re: the water thing - I just keep a squirt bottle of water on the change table and use that. Except now it contains chamomile tea since he had NR. It's room temp, not warm, but then, we're in Nth Qld so room temp is not shrivellingly cold like it is in southern states. But then when we were in Melbourne last month I didn't use warm water - Euan looked a bit perturbed the first couple of times but was fine after that - yeah I know, I'm a cruel, cruel mummy. If you are really worried about it, why not put hot water in a Thermos each morning and keep it by the change table - it should stay warm most of the day and will save you carting around a bucket.
Or, pre-wet cloth wipes and store them in an ice-cream container or something.
Oh, and a night nappy can have around twelve or more layers of (usually) bamboo. It depends on how heavy a wetter your bub is as to whether you'll need them. You can boost a normal nappy, but may have problems with leg gape or insufficient rise. Some specific night nappies are: Wild Child Dreamy Nights, Sandman, Lotus, Snoozywuns, Whizz Kids, um, there are others too.
Gigi - good luck being DH-less for a week my lovely. I can understand your trepidation seeing the Bilbster is clingy following your hospy stay.
PP - you don't want to hear about my DP having an actual conversation about nappies today. Not just that, but he was giving advice!!!
