katones - you use them over fitted nappies (ie non- PUL covered nappy) they heap to absorb and evapourate the wee to kep bub dry (esp over night).

FLongies are fleece ones - FionaJill makes them
Wool longies are wool .. obviously

i started to use them as i found my BBH wool covers did not have a high enuf rise over the BBB to stop wicking/leaks when DD slept on her belly

OK, I am soooo rich now after getting my tax cheque (wooooot!!) so thinking of getting some of these cheap ittis...not convinced though. BP's don't suit us (too tight around the thunder thighs) so bit concerned these might be the same, very similar type of nappy aren't they? You guys love them though right?

I think I'd go large for DS, he's probably just a medium ATM but htat will change very soon and I'd rather get more use out of them.

Don't technically need any nappies right now but that will change and then I probably won't have the cahs so taking advantage while I can.

Also scored a LS on ebay for $60 so pretty happy with that.

    KATONES

    woolies (soakers, shorties, longies)
    and flongies (fleece long pants)
can ALL be worn, over FITTED nappies.

FItted nappies are entirely made out of absorbent material, no waterproof outer.

AIO's and pockets generally have a waterproof outer, so if you put longies or flongies over those, you're using them as a clothing item, not a waterproofing item.

Longies - long pants made out of wool. You lanolise them to make them waterproof. SOme people handwash wool, many makers especially recommend this. SOme people machine wash (on the VERY GENTLE WOOL CYCLE ON COOL) the longies, then use spray lanolin to make them waterproof.

Flongies - long pants made out of polar fleece, with a hidden layer of microfleece (in some brands, it's a hidden SHORTS layer, others use a hidden SLING layer. THe fleece is the waterproof barrier. These can be washed in the sewing machine.

Both options, longies or flongies make great pj bottom substitutes.

    hth Katones.

Willow, get Large for sure. Isla can squeeze into a med & she hasn't got thunder thighs. A large is much better suited.
