Christy, RAK's are your thing arent they
Is a bubbleJ a fitted? can I put it in the dryer? Got LOTS of washing to do tomorrow, been out all day today.
Maz, thanks hunI am glad they work well for the girls so I can get them cheaper Would love to see pics of Wilhelm Powers
Well there is one very good thing about my comp playing up! when I start it up and am waiting for the internet pages to load properly I get some knitting doneI am halfway through the 1st leg on some longies. only got this pair and another pair and a soaker to make for swaps before I make my own
Lets hope I am making NB blue ones soon
I wonder if one could knit wondersuit type things and if they would work for overnight leaks, hmmmmm that is an idea! like an undersuit for night use when it is really cold or just for wear on it's own during spring and autumn when it is getting brisk.
Maz- maybe boil water, add salt mix, let cool then wash???
ok i have been wanting to ask this forever but felt stupid
what does heyena mean? LOL
all this knitting has inspired me and im on row 3 of a soaker
Sorry I'm not better on Cat's details guys!I assumed she'd have got someone else to make an announcement, I'll either text her or her sis tomorrow for the goss. Or maybe I'll call her parents if we get desperate for information. :P
Christy, I know what you mean about kinda feeling compelled about some people, I've got a couple of people I have a burden for...although burden seems the wrong word, more that I worry and care about them more than most people, even if we're not particularly close. It's great that you can be used to help this girl in hard times...and man, she sounds like she's having a hard time! If there's anything I can do from afar oh CRAP I've just remembered your covers...
I wonder if I could be disciplined and remember things for even one week of my life...
Can you get that stuff from the supermarket that will stop dye running? Can't remember what it's called (sorry I'm not strong on details here).
Hope you had a really fun birthday Mel.
Think I'm braindead now (well more than usual - thought I'd make that joke before someone else could :P).
I think Nelle is thinking of DYLON Good stuff! Not sure how well it works with wool but it will also take the dye out of anything that has been subjected to colour run, so the thinks that turn pink can be white again.
Ness a Hyena is a nappy bargain hunterI wish I knew where the name came from! Gigi would know
![]()
I think Hyenas fight over rare obects? Perhaps food in the wild, and rare nappies in the nappy world. I know on NC they also joke about Seagulls (to have an Aussie version), because of Finding Nemo, and everyone sees something they like, perhaps previewing, and go MINE MINE MINE. :P
thanks girls!!
what a silly name Heyena... hmm i will be a seagull![]()
FJ - you dont need to boil the water, add some warm water to your laundry sink and then some salt, you want warmish water, tepid even, swoosh it around and add your woolies, then leave them overnight.
Rinse them out in warm water and let them dry, repeat if they are still running
Christy - did her hubby actually fall of a cliff? wow. I dont think I couldve coped with that at 20 either, poor girl, I hope she is alright!
Well we have wicked nappy rash atm, our first bleeding rashpoor little thing is in so much pain every time she wees or poos, not nice!! So up this morning tothe chemist (the only place open on a sunday) and got a massive tube of Butt Paste (bepanthen) adn a pack of sposies...hope it will be alright by tomorrow night!
WOHB: sposie adn masses of butt paste
Limeslice- grab some opsite!!! its fantastic stuff, i did a post about it a while ago, will help missy pee without pain
B - is that from the chemist? Will check it out tomorrow - thanks !![]()
Melham - you can even buy these sheet things (look like nappy liners lol) that absorb the running dye.
To give that a go.
THe 18 months are big on ashley.so they might fit!
LS, didn't regonise your post LOL! The opsite stuff is meant to be fab, but before I heard about it, when DS had bleeding nappy rash (as he does when teething), we used Penaten, it was only thing that really cleared it up. But I would try and get your hands on some opsite for sure.
Sal, I should have said before, when I was rabbiting on about flats, that we were HOPELESS with them the first week. Leaks, and covers not on properly etc etc. But we stuck with it, and now I could do it blindfolded with my hands tied LOL. I'm sure you're not having a problem, but JIC you were I didn't want you to be thinking "if they're so great why aren't they working for us?" IYKWIM.
WOHB: flat LOL
ittis seconds again!!!
25% off!!!!!
Thanks girls... you are all so lovely. I know you don't think so, but I hesitate sometimes sharing stuff that hits me, but you all here are so giving and sharing I feel like I can share with you....
Nelle... thats just it, its not a burden but a heavy feeling of needing to do something. I have to do it for them.
Anyway... back to the discussion on hand. I have a red soaker that bleeds all the time, I hadn't thought of useing anything to stop the dye from running LOL.... I think a trip to a big chemist might be on order.
WOHB: BumG I've dropped her at day care because I start work in an hour & get an hour off to put dinner in the SC & shower.... bliss.
Janie - Im not too bad with flats but I did practise on my 18mth old niece before Maddie was born!
