FJ.......I have 2 a drawstring one and a BBH zip one I only got the BBH today so havent tested it but my drawstring one is the perfect size for Kindy to put about 3/4 nappies in.
I should add that the drawstring one is one of those $6 -$8 type ones the schools sell as swimming bags and libary bags.
FJ - I like the zips on the wet bags, with they runny NB poo I think its less likely to leak through the opening, even though its probly extremely rare for that to happen
yeah I think the BBH one will be handy come NB time when I am out but I only change Isla once maybe twice when we are out. So I don't need so much space. Folded up the wet bag would take up more space the a nappy LOL.
Might hunt out a few single trip wet bags or something.
Ali - bloody cars... nothin' but trouble if you ask me! Hope your fortunes are turned around soon...
I've got a tots bots wetbag too - but have never really put it to the test so I can't vouch for it yet!
Liam's started a new trick - let's see how quickly I can stick my hand in my doodies before Mum gets a chance to clean it up! I swear, it's like a race! And I have to try to put the dirty nappy somewhere he can't kick it and get it all over his foot as well...
The games we play, huh?
I'm getting the 'itch' to buy more nappies... Will be shopping after Wednesday's appt for Neo-Natal follow up (which I hope will give me his current weight & length).
I'm just about ready to try to make a soaker - just have to find a good pattern, but I'll visit the nanna knitters thread for that discussion
Hello ladies, thought I would stick my head in with a question...we are going swimming for the first time next week and I was wondering what kind of MCN swim nappy would be best? DS is still only little and I don't think I could buy anything online in time so until I can buy a good MCN swim nappy it will be whatever I can get at the supermarket.
At the moment I am still getting used to regular MCN, we have been using BBH Magic-Alls, the newborn size is fitting him really well, the bamboo one sized ones are a bit bulky so haven't used those much yet.
I feel like I am starting to get in the swing of things with being a new mum and will be looking at upping my stash very soon
Maybe I need to do some more shopping... its stressful with two kids
Anyone know how many prunes you need to eat before thing loosen up in your system? I'm on codeine for my back pain (without it I can't move) and think I just ripped myself a new one... IYKWIM? Ouch!!!
WOAB: Not sure cos DH dressed him, but he said he used a snappi so my guess is mandy mac..
WOMB: Magicall (soon to be sposie cos she has nappy rash... )
Gudism - drink pear juice and eat prunes and at least 2-3 L of h20 this should do the trick within about 24 hrs!
laranna - i have used the little swimmer disposables and a swim nappy i bought from Bigw. it ws fine (dd was 6 months at this stage and out grown) - i would send it to you but it is bright pink lol.
Melham - i am the same. I just realised i know have over 60 nappies ouch! and 20 prefolds! i cant fit them anywhere!
Another pear juice fan here love. I drank it like mad after the birth in anticipation of problems - none! (til I ran out of pear juice :P)
Laranna, I think I've seen swim nappies at most of the nappy department stores online, like Wee Wuns, Nurture Nappies, Darlings Downunder...and a few others.
laranna - I too use the higgies disposable swimmers. I rinse them out in cold water after each use, and re-use. Nina's been swimming since she was 6 months old, and I've never had to buy another pack, only when she needed the next size up.
Well Nina has decided that she prefers wearing undies lately, so I'm getting the opportunity to use her bbb on Emily more, and they're starting to fit a lot better. I still prefer the itti bittis on Emily, but the bbb aren't too bad. I suppose the fatter she gets, the better they'll fit.
Emily has a nasty rash on her face ATM. She's had a reaction to the sunscreen we used, and her face is peeling big time. Dr has prescribed pretty strong ointment & painkillers for her. Poor chicken.
WOEB: bbh & wool cover
WONB: nothing, about to have a shower
DD has nappy rash - already!!!!! Grrrr.... has anyone used more natural stuff on their newborns bums so they can stay in MCN? Otherwise I'll just use bepanthen and sposie on her. I have some natural stuff that you can use with MCN, but unsure as to how it will be with her skin...
Larana- i just bought a swim nappy from Darlings Downunder, it was posted the same day and arrived the next. Not even express, just excellent service. I got a Happy Baby one, it is neoprene and the only one allowed in UK swimming lesson pools, so figured it must be good.
ETA- I use Moogoo soothing cream with MCN with no probs mel, and apparently all natural.
Gudism
I use household cornflour on DD's bum with the mcns and it works well to get rid of the dampness.
If it gets red... i cover thick in bepathen and with a mf liner and it is gone by the next morning
