Gudi... uh I mean Arim... I mean MEL! Out of the things you posted I only know about 2; WC = Good'o. RR = Cr@ptacular.

Gigi - You don't need to be biased to see the Bilby is GORGEOUS!! I agree re: the weight charts, I even said to the nurse I didn't particularly want to see but she said "C'mon, just for fun!"

ATTENTION SEWERS/CRAFTERS: Where does one get snap plier thing'os?? No way do I want or need a snap press for my short lived infatuations, but I have seen pliers on US websites... available here? Where?

hey when you make a ribbon blankie, what kind of ribbon do you use?

    Tra la laaaaaa

Anyhows, Pip's up'an'at'em today in a major way. DH did a huge piece of work on our new bathroom today, so "rested" this arvie, so while Pip was asleep we did a pile of garden work - I planted seeds and then dug in manure to our veggie patch and then came and polished all the furniture with beeswax and vacuumed & mopped & even cleaned the filters on the vacuum. DH managed to survive a pooslposion and put him into a zappy! Very proud of DH for that!

Nettie - that is a lovely picture you've painted of your DH and you!

QM you can get a tool from spotters that you bash with a hammer. It's for the metal snaps though, not the plastic ones.

Hmm, thanks Sammi but the thing I've seen looks more like pliers?? Looks MUCH easier than messing about with a hammer....

yes QM - i think the one sammi is talking about is like a piler - you put it on either side with the metal clup and eyelet then hit it with a hammer.
We had one - bought from mitre 1o - to put eyelets into our nylon.

But not plastic.... I have only seen the big snaps machines. They are expensive though i think

The Crop A dile will only set embellishment style snaps...they are not functional snaps as in they have no male and female backs to them to enable things to snap together....the only tools with the power to set a functional snap are a hammer type tool or a snap press which is also using a more forceful hammer type action. Something that is set together with only the strength of a wrist action is not going to have the strength to hold against the stress of being opened and closed like a nappy does....Does that make sense?

I had a looksie babe....only thing I would be worried about is that it wouldnt open wide enough to fit the snaps and material in IFYKWIM.....and you have to keep it steady at the same time. AND would you be able to put in the plastic snaps from snaps Asutralia cause they have a certain die set for their snaps with a big fat sharft (grrrrowl) sorry mind in the gutter..

I bought the hammer sort form the hardwear and it suxed. I bit the bullet and bought one from snaps but greenbeans in NZ has a much more smaller one (Melbel's got one) and it ends up being a bit cheaper. I like Melbel's so much more then mine...i wish I had have bought one of them but hey you live and learn

    ETA and what Melbel said

Maz- not sure what made me pop in, but glad i did! Woo-farkin-hoo for the little man! He has reached every milestone at the estimated time yanno. Those Dr's didn't realise they were dealing with a super baby! Awsome news.

In other news i managed to get a cool nappy on that site MAZ is on. Can't remember at the mo. But it is a cool set nappy and singlet, made by beetlebum. Never heard of them before but loved the look of the nappy. So stalking the postman!
