Suse honey - easy as...get a safety pin..cut little slits were the elastic is now...feed elastic through from one slit to the other...with the sewing machine securily sew on top elastic and then stretch elastic as much as you can, thens tart sewing until the bottom slit.

If you cant get your head aorund it send them to me to fix babe. I did Jol's fo rher.

Fiona HUGE package has landed and the pinnis are to die for.

Christy - I think we'll use the soaker for night times..its so cute and thank you honey...you didnt have to send me a nappy for me but how can I resist a BBH expecially in purple MAUWS!!!!!

Mel - dont know about amazing...tired yes

Sammi - rainbow spider has landed....hehehehehe

Question time...its about labels on nappy's, covers ect.....would people prefer a 'label' that sticks out or a hidden one (cant reveal to much )

I like the labels that are over the tabs or on the back (cause I love showing off!)

Can't remember who .. ahhh KK - they have the size as the label on one tab, and the name on the other (or do they use snaps with the sizes?)

You know you're addicted to MCN when ... the postie comments he hasn't seen you for a while, you make the comment "fluffy mail!" and he not only replies "it certainly is" but also asks to see them, and you have a discussion about cloth vs sposies! And he pats the fluffy mail!!

Ummm yeah, I got fluffy mail - widdlewuns funkywuns with matching singlet. Need to wash it and hope that Saturday is a warm, warm day so I can show it off! And a gift widdlewun that's gerberas, for a friend of mine. She needs a lift, as her partner left her and she has limited funds but loves cloth.

woHB - still the same zappy (getting more worried here)

Fluffymail here too - thank you oh so much 'secret' swappie person - it's gorgilicious (I'm pretty sure I know who it was from though judging from the return addy, but we'll pretend it's a secret ). Haven't tried it on his sleeping lordship's butt, but upon awakening, it will be worn with pride.

Jol's - Aware Sensitive is totally anti-nappy-washing-nasties. No brighteners, no fragrances, no enzymes, no fillers, no other yukkies.

FJ love - I was only teasing about the cows... I knew what you meant, I was just sh*t-stirring you.

Kaz - hope Pip pees and poos for you soon hon, we spend all of our time complaining about how much they poo (at least I do LOL), but as soon as they stop we worry. I hope he's OK.

Thanks Maz sweets - you're a doll. I'm going to print out your instructions and give it a go. Stupid question, what do I do with the safety pin (now now, be nice please )? Oh, hang on, I think I get it. I safety pin the new elastic to the old elastic, then pull out the old elastic, which will feed through the new elastic. Right? (Yes, I'm an idiot...).

Oh, and on labels, I like labels on the outside, especially on the back of the nappy, but they can also work well on the wings/tabs. But if they are used on the outside, they shouldn't have a separate size tag sticking out the bottom, it looks a bit tacky. Outside labels should be for branding and nothing else. Itti Bitti do it well (although they do have the size below the logo in small neat lettering, this works OK), so do Wildchild, and Beetlebums. Can't think of any others off the top of my head. If you are thinking of doing outside labels, because you do a lot of really funky, bright and patterned nappies/covers, your label would work best in a single colour (eg: white on black), and should be very simply and boldly designed with high contrast. (Sorry, the designer in me just got let out of her box, I'll shut up now ).

Christy, the funny thing is, BumGs work fantastically for us 90% of the time, it's just that when they don't, they really don't. I have such a love/hate relationship with BumGs, they work wonderfully for a while but then they fail me and I stop trusting them for a while, then I slowly build up trust again only to have it broken again. Sounds like a soap opera, right?

WOHB: a different Bamboozle and a different Sugarpeas cover than before.

I got my nappy swap stuff - THANK YOU!! I am so stoked...I got my first pair of shorties and they are way cool! Can't wait to test them...but do I need to lanolise?? Something i've never had to worry about before...better read up on it actually.

I'd love it if everyone could share what they got..what do you guys think??

    What'd you get Suse?!

Maz, absolutely agree with Suse on labelling. Keep it simple and DON'T put sizes on them...HATE that!!! Size labels should be separate and on the inside. Too weird, i was actually thinking of mentioning this to you a while back, I want people to know who made my cool covers!!

WOHB: (always forget this) - BBH and Maz fleecie cover. Maz, finding your fleecie covers work really well for us overnight Also finding that I prefer the BBH's overnight to our WC less bulk and seem to work just as well. Such a difference in a boy who used to pee through the WC in 4 hours flat!!

I agree Willow- i hate how the swaddlebees has the size sticking out the back.
I also agree with suse- definately a plain color as it will never clash with a cover!
My fave place for a label is on the bum, if however it will interfere with embroidery, then either like the berry plush, or ittibitti locations.

    Hi Girls!!

What do most of you use to wash your MCN and baby/kids clothes? Is Planet Ark Aware Sensitive most popular? Or Euca Powder? I'm thinking about buying a 10L bucket of the stuff as everyone seems to think it's great stuff....

I hope to chat more in this thread with you ladies when our baby is born!! Until then, i'll just keep sneaking in and out now and then and learning as much as I can!!

BTW, bought some MooGoo Udder Cream today and OMG it's sooo nice!! Thx for the recommendations girls I'm hooked already

Maz, Must be the night for nuts kids. It is a full moon though...

Sarah had a Tanty at the idea of putting a nappy on to go to the park I was not impressed! Then when we got home from the park she didn't want to put her night nappy on
