    boy wot a day

meant to have The Photo Session(!!!) and that got cancelled, photographer had a migraine - was dreading the Photo Session, so secretly glad it was cancelled.

dh says at 2pm - let's go the beach! 2.5 hours later we leave to go to the beach, after arguing and getting distracted. WE ONLY HAVE ONE CHILD!!!!!

Get to the beach. Realise i have only HALF packed the nappy bag. we have left the house and gone out WITH NO NAPPY to change madam into when nature calls!!

She's wearing the nappy she had on in the car, goes to the water's edge and SITS DOWN on teh wet sand and one inch of water - she goes troppo - doesn't want to stay in this wet gear - i guess the totally wet Lotus AIO must be heavy on her bottom - so we take that off, put on her swim nappy and hope for the best. She won't get IN the water, but runs around in the swim nappy quite happily.

we were SOOOO lucky she must have had very little "in the tank" as the swim nappy stayed dry (!!!) - we stayed for a few hours - went back to the car and remembered the Emergency Car Nappy Bag - only 2nd time i've needed it, it had a OSFA front snapper that has been gathering dust in that bag. I also managed to forget the portable change mat (that has the wipes in it), so was SO THANKFUL that bilby did not poop! So into the emergency nappy and onto the playground equipment.

Poor bilby, the only time she gets to go on outings with us is on the weekends and neither dh or i can get our *#$& together to pack what she needs. I didn't want to go anywhere at all, would have been happy if they had gone off on their own, leaving me to be under the doona.

i kept telling myself, people with four children manage to go to the beach and i bet it doesn't take them 2.5 hours to leave home! Cannot believe i actually went somewhere without packing nappies in the nappy bag!!!! My stock standard is to pack three nappies/portable change mat/wipes/ in the nappy bag, today, i got as far as packing her swim nappy/spare clothes/sunprotection stuff and then lost the plot. i had so many interruptions, so much shrieking from bilbs, ongoing arguing with dh, my head was just SPINNING off my shoulders.

this must be why fate has decided i can only have one baby, i can barely cope with one, what on earth would i be like with two! (rhetorical question, don't mind me, just having a bad day).

Katones - your Jack is one week old!! wow! cluck cluck cluck
Have your worked out what you ate that set him off? i had cravings for fruit juice early on, and that gave bilbs terrible soreness (when the poo came out, very violently), i had to cut the fruit juice right out (sigh). It only seemed to be in the first year though, after that, i re-introduced foods that in the first year, she coudln't tolerate, but after one year, i could have them (in small quantities) and it was no longer a drama.
How are your other kids with Jack? Have they asked to take him to school to show off!!

Gigi, hun we ALL have those days, no matter how many kids we have. Maz is having her time off ATM remember And I always forget to check the nappy bag, it stays in the boot.

I have a big WOOHOO!!!!! My WM is fixed and I have hot water connected to it!!!!! I have done a hot wash with washing liquid till I have all the nappies available for a strip wash!!! I think the strip wash will occur this week!! for the 1st time since we got married (3.5 years) I have hot water connected to my washing machine!!

Tomorrow (maybe it is today, what's the time?) is the RNW picnic in the park up here!! Got the last of my nappies in the dryer to make sure they are completely dry for tomorrow! Taking my whole CT stash!
