Kat- hows bubs bum this morning? por little thing.
ohh them melb girls- glad you all had a great time at the expo...
Ok i have two feral children for giveaway.. its only 7:30 am and they are already at it. Annika is literally screaming the house doen because i told her off (YET AGAIN) for being into my photo albums.. I have no where else to put them and she keeps distroying them.. plus Teleah is having a tanty too cause she was in on it (you would think at 4 she would know better) so any way i have locked them in their bed room til i am ready to leave.
seriously how many times do you have to say no about the same friggen thing? im ready to crack smae ***** different day.
WOAB: lime Dlish
WOMB: ohhh yeah another lime dlish lol (matching bums, as well as matching screaming fits)
Gigi - sorry hun didnt see the wt question lol :P (you know me hlaf a brain). He was 7lb7oz at birth.. not sure now. so that is about 3.4kg???
I might use the bamboo trifolds at night and the flannel during the day.
Does anyone else leave bub in a wet/dirty nappy when they have drifted back to sleep after a poo? Or do you wake them to change them... stupid question i know.
Beatrix - It was a purely cloth night yay! Only had 1 poo explosion out the side of the bummis onto my sheets doh! but The cover is sparkling white again! Gigi was right and they wash out perfectly! yay for Mel!
thanks fj. that is what i have been doing
Same with burping. He will fall asleep on the breast (as we are cosleeping atm) and i think i should burp him... but then it wakes him and i have to put him back on the breast.. and the cycle continues!... but if i dont then he wakes with belly pains!
Well i put E in a small BBH PUL. It s a little big but i think it wil be ok for pad folds during the day and the NB at night with the snappis bamboos... i find the pad folds are just that bit thicker and bulkier in such a little nb cover.....
gotta go.. ashley is armed with crayons and i have lost sight of her!!!!
Gigi ROFL I always forget stuff but I just don't care Sometimes I am thankful that my car is usually a mess because that means I can forage in the boot or the back footwells and find a hat, jumper or whatever. I've put one of Masons jumpers on Caleb once which was hilarious
DH used sposies on Caleb while I was away which I expected. Poor fella had a red little date though
I've also got a bucket full to wash which I totally forgot about. I should have done them on Friday night. Too scared to lift the lid of the bucket
Oh... My... God... I am not really handling nappy changes ATM. Over the last few days E has decided to turn into screaming, wailing, twisting, turning, trying to throw himself head-first off the change table, will not let me put a nappy on him at all costs baby. But this morning was nearly impossible.
Distracting him with a new toy doesn't work, singing to him doesn't work, playing peekaboo with a cloth doesn't work, remaining calm and talking softly doesn't work, I'm embarrassed to admit that completely losing the plot and screaming at him doesn't work (no surprise there, all it ended up with was both of us crying our eyes out), taking him off the change-table and sitting him on my knee doesn't work, the only thing that does work is the two person change - ie: one person to literally and quite forcefully pin him down whilst he thrashes about and screams, the other person to change him. Which probably isn't helping the situation, it must feel like torture for the little guy, it sure feels that way for me.
Unfortunately DP is at work so I'm on my own, I'm scared that if I try to physically hold him down I'll hurt him, and my back and shoulders are absolutely stuffed so I physically can't wrestle with a nearly 11kg boofhead anyway. He's actually too strong for me. It took nearly 25 minutes to change him this morning and by the end of it I was in so much pain it wasn't funny, and E was so distraught by the whole thing he's only just calmed down now. And it wasn't even a pooey nappy, I'm dreading poo.
Short of actually tying him to the table, I really don't know what to do. I know that it's probably just a phase as he is just starting to walk and is hating anything that stifles his ability to run around like a maniac. But in the meantime - PLEASE HELP!!! (lol)
WOHB: a slightly lopsided Cute Tooshies and Sugarpeas wool Cover (and funnily enough, fitteds and covers are actually easier ATM, because they are a little more resistant to being poorly fitted than an AIO)
Yes, My car is also in a state at all times. At any given time I could find socks, shoes, jumpers, hats, macca's toys, cars, trains etc. Not to mention food wrappers, tissues (used!!) and the occasional cheese burger & or nugget! Yes it is very disgusting at the best of times. Rather shameful really. BUT at least there are no used sposies hiding under the driver seat!
I used my new nappy bag yesterday. Its not as bad as I thought it would be. It hangs on the stroller well & I could fairly easily access the things i wanted.
So girls how was the expo?
eta - Suse, put him on the floor to change him, Sit with your legs spread out & him inbetween. Then lye him down so his feet at your stomach & then use your calfs of your legs to hold his shoulders down while you change him.
Its tricky but it works LOL.
Its a very normal stage & there isn't much you can do to stop it but to ride it out. Its call the crocodile roll in this house.

oh suse, I remember those days with Nina. It's hard isn't it. I want Emily to stay still for as long as possible.
I don't even want to think what my car looks like ATM. I know I haven't cleaned the inside of it in a few weeks. I just get the kids in and out of the car, and don't look around. That works best
FJ - I pulled out my nappy bag this morning and dusted it off. I've been slack and have been using my handbag (I have a large handbag, lol). But now that I'm carrying around food for Emily and Nina, plus nappies and whatnot, than I thought it was best to get the nappy bag out.
I'm hanging out to get my itti bittis which Maz grabbed for me on the weekend. I luuurve ittis!
Thanks FJ - I'll give that a try. At the very least it will give my thighs a workout And if he rolls around on the floor he won't fall off it. I just wish that he could understand that if he could just be still for a minute or two, it would be over SOOOO MUCH QUICKER, instead of this interminable pain and torture...
Oh, BTW, did I mention that we have a WALKER!!!! He's been taking increasingly less wobbly steps for a couple of weeks now, and he can get from the computer to the coffee table (about 1 1/2 metres) without falling over!!
Thank you to all the girls that turned up and let me have the pleasure of their company on saturday. I had a ball . I am so tired and my legs feel like their gonna drop off after yesterday. Nelle - I have to get into contact with you asap about you know what
Yay for the walker Suse!!! woohoo!!! And yup classic nappy change trouble - we did a similar thing to FJ - tucking his legs under my armpits and bending down work well on the floor too.
We are currently going through a "lets-kick-daddy-in-the-nuts" stage here. I may not get a chance for the 3rd child by the time he grows out of the stage!!
Nelle - it certainly works very well backwards lol
Gigi & Ange - well I'm glad I'm not the only one...lol (no wonder DH complained all the time that they were a little awkward to put on DS....lol - whoops!!)
Bea - I so know what you are talking about - its DVD's here
Ta for the tip FJ - it sort of worked a treat. At least it kept the top half of him motionless, but he howled and kicked and thrashed his legs about so hard he was bright red and dripping with sweat by the end of it. Poor little guy, he was really distressed, but what can I do, he's got to have his bum changed... DP wouldn't want to try it without some serious protection, some of the kicks I got HURT, and I'm a girl! It was still a bit hard getting the nappy on, but it only took five minutes as opposed to twenty-five, so that's a positive. I really hope he gets over this phase soon.
Mel, what's the thing with boys, eh? E loves to grab, bite, stand on, poke, prod, squeeze and generally mutilate DP's balls.
Pink - yay on Ethan's first MCN. Such a cute photo too. Ashley seems to adore her little brother...
Well there go SUse, the croc roll & walking tend to go hand in hand. Why lie still when you can go where ever you like!
Evan was walking by 10 months also & oh how nappy changes were so much fun!
Another thing you could try, is get him to get you the things. So ask him to get you a nappy or the wipes & come lie down etc. He may be a little young to understand but if he thinks he is helping mummy he might be more willing KWIM
OMG I just got the cutes fluffy mail!
I got 2 NB bettle bums off NC & OMG they are seriously tiny fluff!!! One is white minkee & the other is a funky duck print. Not a massive fan of Bettle bums as in the past I found the fit too small for ISla. But the price was right so I grabbed them.
I also got a pair of NB longies which a orange colour way with a mushroom on the leg, with a matching hat. Again OMG Im soooo clucky!
Also got a pk of snappis from ebay (6 in total) & then some bits n pieces for the baby too. socks etc.
