cookie - no matter how good your night nappy is, unless you have a cover that SUFFICIENTLY covers the night nappy, you're gonna have problems.
any nappy, day or night, needs to be 100% covered by the cover, and with NIGHT nappies, it's even MORE crucial - cos of the wiggling, and moving that goes on all night.
any boosting you add, make sure AFTER you boost INSIDE the nappy, that you still have leg seal, there should be NO GAPES.. if you have gapes, consider OUTER BOOSTING.
you do up night nappy as usual, then take BOOSTING and add that OUTSIDE the ngiht nappy but INSIDE the night cover. (but the cover needs to be big enough to cover ALL of that night nappy, the outer boosting, WITHOUT giving you leg gape of the cover.
once all of this is on bubs, you should see LEG SEAL, not LEG GAPE. If you have leg gape, the cover is too small for your needs. The cover will probably fit your day nappies fine, but is not big enough for night nappying.
Happy Heiny seems a high rise product, does it come as high up on your bub as your night cover does? e.g above or below the navel.
before you go shelling out for high rise night nappies, i would try a high rise night cover in a big enough size FIRST, because that might be all you need - to make your current night nappies work. (unless you can see way more bottom crack than is desired, already in those night nappies).
but if you do get night nappies with a higher rise, the cover will need to be even bigger again. (rise especially). that's why i love the woollies with the drawstring, you get such a big weight range with them, soooo adjustable. you can buy them, technically too big, bring it all in with the drawstring. so the woolly lasts your child a much longer time cos they have all that growing room.
it really helps to go shopping for a night nappy, with your child's rise measurement, so you know what you are after. it's expensive to buy the night nappies, HOPING the rise will be long enough, cos it is for other people's babies. Email the maker, with your child's rise and ask their opinion BEFORE buying.
measure the rise of the night nappies you already have.
notice how close or far that is from your child's rise measurement.
compare that to the night nappies you find online (the rise).
Does your bub sleep right thru? or wake for a feed?
I was at a baby shower today, the only clothie there, and bilby had the cutest butt around. Go, you little minky minx!
WOTBB: kester kovers AIO (dh's fave). at 11kgs, she fits both the medium long and the large sizes, both on the smallest settings. Even over that milk gut, yes indeed.
Suse: what a pain having to put a cover OVER a BG - that just seems so wrong.
