Derr Maz - I really need to figure out where I packed my brain. Most of the boxes are empty now so it can only be in the Study unless I left it in Adelaide

Teruteru - Welcome to BB!! WOHB is What's On His/Her Butt, What's On (insert initial here) Butt is used when people have more than 1 child in nappies, unless the 2 in nappies have the same initials and then they sometimes use colours, or write His or Hers, and sometimes (as below) if both children have the same thing on T means Their. Oh and FYI, Purple is the colour the Mods use when moderating If we see purple we worry that we have done something wrong

Em has a NASTY nappy rash. Her poos are weird again, so something is disagreeing I think she managed to steal some normal yoghurt from DH this arvo or from Sarah yesterday. So she is all blistery and in sposies with a heap of zinc cream. Sarah is a bit sore too and they have had threadworm treatment today so I though it might be better for them to wear sposies tonight. It's depressing.

    Hi girls!!

Gigi - Yup, I'm back hon, thanks for asking!! We found a place & found out we got it yesterday, so WOOT!! It has a MASSIVE yard, is opposite the lake, has a greenhouse & a bath & KITCHEN BENCHES... sorry, a bit excited about that since we don't currently have any lol. It doesn't have an oven (there's always SOMETHING!!) but I'm looking into one of those bench top deal'es.

Punky is currently in Sposies. She was in sposies for the house hunting & I was sooooooo glad to get home & back in cloth but she got THE WORST NR ever!! Had to buy more sposies for zinc cream slathering. Poor little Punk.

The only thing I was tempted to do by the itti email was enter a photo for their gallery competition lol.

oooo what to do?? I loaned a friend a BumGenius and a hemp booster to try out on her bub, and now she's returned it and it smells a whole lot like fabric softener... I said NO FABRIC SOFTENER OR NASTY ENZYME/OPTICAL BRIGHTENER DETERGENTS (yes, in capitals) but it smells all apple-y now. Strip-wash for one nappy? argh! I've just finished washing 2 days worth of nappies, and got the water bill... suggestions please?!

maz - goody goody gum-drops! I'm looking forward to stalking my posty for fluffy mail, and also he's a really lovely chap. I might even go get my WC from Michelle in person coz I'm going up that way soon. I hope they're as fab as everyone says coz the GNST was wet thru in 4 hours last night...

kaz - get well soon! Hope Pip's doing better now too.

    do we have a shaz??

QM - I know exactly how exciting it is to finally have kitchen benches! Bliss! New place sounds lovely.

    Rhoda - Hi!

Arimeh - that's so weird about the shredded boosters... washing machines do some pretty strange things. Mine adds lint to everything, hides it in corners of nappies and in toes of socks, but I don't think it enhances the absorbency of MCN, sadly. Have you asked if there's anything the IB makers can do?

WOHB: I think a BP. DP changed him and they're both napping together now... *awwww*

Im interested to know how much like a WC they look, from the pics they look the same.

I have been turning prefolds into fitteds today.

    SHIAT

I just did a big post and its gone!! dame it!!!

    ok start again

    WC v's Mirabia

    FRONT closed
Both velour - snaps on WC futher apart then on M

    OPEN WING
M only has one socket snap were WC has 2

    OPEN BOTH WINGS
WC has 7 socket snaps - seem curved
M has 10 socket snaps - straight line

    OPEN NAPPY
WC's booster snaps in the back
    M's snaps in the front
WC has LONG fold up booster sewn under fleece booster and then another top booster
M's has trifold booster sewn under much longer and wider then WC's booster
WC's inner and boosters are lined in fleece
M's inner and booster lined in velour

Yes they are sort of simular at first glance but when you have them flat next to each other you can see the difference. M's are wider in the crutch and front panel then WC's.

    Hmmm that was fun!!!

Nana - to stripwash one or a few items, just do it by hand in a basin or trough. Use a tiny amount of GENTLE dishwashing liquid, squirt the amount that would cover a 20cent piece, on the bum genius shell, rub it together so you cover whole thing. Keep rinsing until NO MORE BUBBLES. Then wash as normal.

to save on water for washing nappies, we bought a washing machine that is 4.5 stars for water efficiency. it has a sensor to only use as much water as it needs to wash that particular size load. it's a front loader, takes a while, but uses very little water or electricity. (Our old machine died when bilby was two months old, so we HAD to buy a new machine sooner than expected).

    WOTBB: minky pocket

    welcome T

Kazbah, sorry you and Pip are feeling so crook :getbettersoon:

Maz - thanks for the photo of Ruby! Sorry to hear Sammi is having a hard time.

Alioops - what have you lost in the move? always something heh?

Queenie - WONDERFUL that you got the house you want! congrats!!!

Thanx Gigi! I knew you'd rescue me I do have a fairly water-efficient washing machine, only 3.5 stars tho, but I often bail out the bath water (soap-free) in buckets for pre-rinses and pump all the the grey-water into the yard. It's good exercise for the biceps too! I had an ace front loader but I gave it to my mum "to look after" when I moved overseas a few years ago... I guess she's still looking after it.

WOHB: BBB, with extra-extra boosters and a Tots Bots fleece cover. Hanging out for that sandman!
