    nana
oooo what to do?? I loaned a friend a BumGenius and a hemp booster to try out on her bub, and now she's returned it and it smells a whole lot like fabric softener... I said NO FABRIC SOFTENER OR NASTY ENZYME/OPTICAL BRIGHTENER DETERGENTS (yes, in capitals) but it smells all apple-y now. Strip-wash for one nappy? argh! I've just finished washing 2 days worth of nappies, and got the water bill... suggestions please?!

Nana - to stripwash one or a few items, just do it by hand in a basin or trough. Use a tiny amount of GENTLE dishwashing liquid, squirt the amount that would cover a 20cent piece, on the bum genius shell, rub it together so you cover whole thing. Keep rinsing until NO MORE BUBBLES. Then wash as normal.

to save on water for washing nappies, we bought a washing machine that is 4.5 stars for water efficiency. it has a sensor to only use as much water as it needs to wash that particular size load. it's a front loader, takes a while, but uses very little water or electricity. (Our old machine died when bilby was two months old, so we HAD to buy a new machine sooner than expected).

    WOTBB: minky pocket

    welcome T

Kazbah, sorry you and Pip are feeling so crook :getbettersoon:

Thanx Gigi! I knew you'd rescue me I do have a fairly water-efficient washing machine, only 3.5 stars tho, but I often bail out the bath water (soap-free) in buckets for pre-rinses and pump all the the grey-water into the yard. It's good exercise for the biceps too! I had an ace front loader but I gave it to my mum "to look after" when I moved overseas a few years ago... I guess she's still looking after it.

WOHB: BBB, with extra-extra boosters and a Tots Bots fleece cover. Hanging out for that sandman!

Gigi - I lost my brain.

Em is starting to heal up, she has been in sposies all day with thick slatherings of zinc, hopefully she will get better over the course of tomorrow. The blisters are not an angry red any more, and some of the smaller ones are completely gone.

    Fluffy Mail!!!

A CT Dude charity nappy for me and an order for someone who I need to buy a pressie for too before I can post it. I need to buy something for her big boy too!!

Shock Horror - My house is clean!!! I only have to finish off the lounge and sweep and mop the lounge and kitchen, and DH needs to do todays dishes, but it is clean!!

WOEB: sposie and heaps of zinc
WOSB: Nada, but soon to be whatever night nappy she chooses. Dorothy is in the wash so it wont be Dorothy.

alioops, i'll do you a deal, you find mine (brain) and i'll find yours!

Maz - what are you putting your fingers in boiling hot water for, my sweet? do you need some long wooden spoons? to stir the dye pot with, perhaps!! Have fun fabric dyeing! I must do some more of that too, but will use the 500gm of salt this time, hoping that will save me from having to separately wash stuff for first while.

WOTBB: night nappy that dh chose from the basket of night nappies that i prep

i need to go lanolise/handwash two soakers, been putting it off for ages, first time in ages i have actually watched an entire tv program, just felt like it last few nights. it's not hard to lanolise/handwash, just our laundry is so cramped, i have to move stuff just to get to the trough. grrrr. i dream of SPACIOUS place to live. built in cupboards that go up to the ceiling. why not add a maid why i'm in fantasy mode. LOL. oh, and how can i forget, a SEWING ROOM fully outfitted! yeh, THEN i could sew nappies and other sundry items!

FJ - how are you and little iain travelling?

who's our next clothie to have a newbie? is it AJP?

Kazbah, would you happen to have a MONKEY starbunz? any chance of a piccie of it on your Pipster in your gallery pretty please? :flutterseyelashes:

I do have one - I used it today so its a bit manky, but when I wash it I'll post it.

Well Pip & I went back to the docs today - he has a different virus to last week's ear infection, and I've got it too. Poor little mite! And then he vomited up all his tea (over the monkey starbunz) which was milk, prawn crackers & chicken & sweetcorn soup. Doh. So he's got panadol again (fever was at 39.2 at 8pm) and I've a fever just had nurofen, now DH is coming down with it and my dad as well.

Reno update: I now have a laundry door! Still no walls, but the cavity slider's in!!! Was looking at caravans and am going to steal an idea - having the benches higher than the machine, with a hinged section the machine sits under, so there's more folding space!!!

Maz - wow, that was in-depth indeed!

Ali - well done on the cleaning. Not so good on the blisters, but great they're healing up.

    Anyhows, I'm off to bed.

    WoHB - KK nights

Pretty sure Queenmab likes her bumwear, i've not used them.

Saw the lovely Mazalicious yesterday. I told her i would bring something for lunch. Just a chicken and some rolls, nothing flash. Well i turn up and she has pork in the oven and a table full of food. Does this womans generosity EVER end???? It was sensational too. Might have to visit more often. OMG you should all see Little Mateuz getting around. HE is so amazing, and has the most gorgeous smile. Vy is as gorgeous as ever, although Lulu kept bashing her up. Poor Vy.

    WOHB? Bubblebubs.
