No over in Kelso - we tend to lose power with every storm? We've gone out 3 times already this wet. Looks like we might be in for a half decent storm season this year? Not sure if you read my earlier post but I was thinking you, me and Ali could catch up for coffee one day - I have a few barely used nappies and some brand new that need good homes if you want to have a look and take your pick - I'm trying to do a big (belated) spring clean

Saram - yes, there is a TESTER thread on belly belly. they are divided up into kilo weights i think.

so on one, people will post their babies stats, and presumably, WAHM's come along, have a read and pm people to test their nappies (i guess).

Sometimes< wahms post a thread "i need testers for this sort of nappy, baby must be this weight range, and any other criteria they have".

Ali, Maz, Saram and anyone else who posted TT-ing tips, i really apreciate hearing how you have done it with your other kidlets. I have bought a few pair of trainers, really more for the "out of home" times when TT-ing, to lessen the hassle, when we are far from public toilets and i hear bilby say "i have to go RIGHT now" - and in the car.

i think my biggest fear is having to clean up pastey mushy poop from hard to clean things. A puddle on the lino i think will be ok, it's the poo and wee on things OTHER than the floor that concerns me (in our small, very cluttered unit). i will go try to find your thread PINK cos i need that kind of education myself "how to toilet train 101"!

bilby seems to be slow with eating solids and speaking, so i guess i don't want to have add "slow at tt-ing" to her list. But i can see from reading so far, that her being able to communicate, doing formed poos, and having the motor skills to pull pants up and down, will make an incredible difference, to her chance of succeeding.

maybe i will be buying XL nappies after all.

YAY PP....that is friggen awesome woman!!!!!! Go the big girl undies

Gigi - witht he TT and being out, I ask Vy if she needs to go before we go out...which she usually does, when we get to the destination if she needs to go, and then when ever we pass a loo I ask her. Even if she just sits on it, I dont care....she is atleast showing she knows her body

We're going out this monring Gigi and I'll be doing exactly this...although VY has told me a few times...'wee' while holding her jaja and has held on until I got her to a loo

Anna - The sun bleaches out poo stains hun and there are things like liners that you can put in to catch the pooh ... I put in about a cap full or 2 of disinfectant and when I notice that my nappies are smelling a bit phewy then I chuck in some bicarb.

I wanna come up north so I can meet everyone!

Ali - Vy woke us at 5 this monring needing a wee...she was belting on the toilet door with her nappy off again

OK off to the post office, then Kmart, then Coles...no rest for the wicked!!!

    Morning all

I don't think DS is ready for toilet training yet - he was in the bath last night and started freaking out and saying poo poo poo poo and screaming and stuff and then holding onto his penis and I said, its ok, if you need to do a wee wee, just go in the bath its ok mate, and he's shaking his head and started screaming, nappy nappy nappy - most hysterical like, so I quickly got him out, dried him put on a nappy and he did the biggest fart... lol

So yeahhh.. moral of story.. still wayyyy to dependent on nappies here...

    (Mel quietly cheers yay!!)

    Question

Sorry to hijack your thread girls, but as a cloth newbie, would you recommend I buy an AIO or a pocket nappy?

I want to buy 2 Minilala ones tonight and am struggling to make a decision. Or should I just buy 1 of each?

    TIA.

Shoegal - Depends on the AIO style. I use mainly AI2, ie the booster snaps on and that is it. I find stuffing pockets to be a pain because it is harder to get the booster flat so as to avoid leakages.

Nana - I know that most mail from NQ to Melbs takes 5 business days so depending on where it is coming from it could still arrive tomorrow, but if it is not there by Wednesday then it would be APs fault.

Maz - Can Vy get on the toilet by herself? We leave the toilet door open and the light on for Sarah when she can be trusted to not get up and muck around all night. So only occassionally.

Sarah and Anna - Sarah is at Daycare on Mondays and Tuesdays but any day suits me. Sarah I have to drop by your place this week with your stuff anyway. I still haven't got paperwork organised yet though coz Yvonne has been run off her feet and we havent had time to sit down and do paperwork. Last night our power flickered in the storm but that was all.

Gigi - There is no such thing as TTing late. It is much better for her to be in nappies for as long as she needs them than it is to try and TT too early. Sarah literally just clicked and that was it.

Em is back in cloth!!!! I shall see how she looks after her sleep and hopefully she is all clear!! While she was in sposies we were lathering her in zinc cream so she is much clearer, but still a little red.

I am halfway through emptying out the spare room. We need to move the futon in there for mum and dad to come up as soon as we get back. I have so many little 000 girl clothes that I hope I never get to use again!! And I didn't realise Em has so many clothes

Shoegal - if you are just starting out i would buy one of each so you can test them and see what you like.

I have waaaaaay too many nappies of all types and varieties and it has been good to see what works for one baby and not the other

NaNa - i am also waiting woolies mail and it has been a week... you just have to it isnt lost somewhere because of the xmas rush

Ali - woohoo on back in cloth! i am the same with Ashley and clothes.. soooo many it is crazy!

Mel - dont worry hun (btw i love that aricyn needed a nappy to fart lol). this morning has been a bit of a disaster so might be postponing it anyhow

Yeah hon...VY can get to the toilet her self but it doesnt help when she has 2 older brothers that go through the night themselves and close the door on her she's only short and cant reach the handle yet

    so tired...need sleep................

all's good when the mail arrives! I just needed to get things moving, put it out there that I need my fluffy mail today, and 5 minutes later the lovely posty rings the bell! Woolies for the boy and mama pads for me. I still get paranoid about mail not turning up ever since my wedding photos went missing in the post for months (and by that time I didn't want to see them anyway! )

ok, off to lanolise some goodies... yay! (you think I need to get out more? when I get excited about this kind of thing? hmm...)
