uh.. dunno then.. mine has snaps but I don't know if they are wider or slimmer than before in the crutch.. I think they are pretty wide myself.. but wider compared to what.. lol
back when i was investigating the Narrow and Wide crotch nappy scenarios - i remember 15 - 17 cm being the width that were too wide for us, and 12 cm wide was just fine n dandy.

i think of happy heiny, bumgenius, greenkids type "full coverage" nappies, as the wide crotch

and swaddlebees (the sized ones), itti bitti, as the narrow crotch styles.

i cannot work out why so many kids can handle BOTH wide and narrow crotch styles, cos from hearing what is in people's stashes, this is what i notice. So obv bilbs is a freak.

just my potted empirical research, after having a bub who even when she had the three rolls of fat on each thigh, still had and still has a narrow crotch as a two year old now.

BEATRIX - if you're lurking - i didn't know you had a LS! i could have sworn you told me you didn't have one (due to inquisitive big sisters). good luck with move/xmas confusion etc.

HEIDI - nappylicious are a OSFA nappy, just google the name, and the website will come up.

for the flexiwraps by tots bots, nurture nappies sell them, look up that website, click on covers, PUL, or search by brand for TOTS BOTS, and the weight ranges for each size will be listed.

WOTBB: royal purple kester kovers AIO night nappy and a singlet - bit muggy tonight.

any single mummies on this thread?
i have worked out, if i leave dh, rent (the cheapest places i can find) will be 50% of my income. Does anyone else pay THAT much in rent? Can you survive like that? am i being a wuss, or is 50% a BIG percentage to be paying in rent?

Gigi - sometimes you can apply for rent assistance from centrelink in situations like that! Sorry to hear your ina situation where you need to be making decisions like that

As for the wide crotch/narrow crotch - I prefer the wide crotch as Ari is a big bottomed girl but I find the swaddlebees are OK on her but the itti's just didn't have the coverage in the backside. so overall I go for wide crotch over narrow so bilby isn't a freak :-)

Missymoo - new threads are started by the moderators when the thread reaches the maximum number of posts per thread (300).

Heidi - the flexiwrap stats are:

    Size 0 2-5.5kg Waist 28-44cm Leg14-20cm Rise 40cm
    Size 1 4.5-9 kg Waists 32-46cm Leg 18-22cm Rise 43cm

On newborn stash stuff - Euan was 4.2kg, so I used BumGs from day one, and TotsBots size 1s and Thirsties covers. I didn't branch out until E was about six weeks old, when I got my first BP and my sugarpeas wool in one. I'd be interested to see if cute tooshies work on a newbie, I think they might go tight enough in the legs, and they'd be lovely and soft.

Um, that's it from me, hopefully he with the sore teethies will go to sleep soon and so can I.

WOHB: FJ night nappy and wool soaker

ETA: hugs to you Gigi sweet - things really aren't getting better for you with DH, are they? I'm so sorry that you're going through this.

ETA 2: I can use both wide and narrow crotch on Euan, but he suits narrow much better. My big thing is for side snapping over front snapping nappies - I really don't get a good fit with front snapping.

Babe I can't use narrow crotches on my girls. Leaks galore!! SO if Bilbs is a freak so are my kids

Sarah and Anna - Yep any time is fine for me. DH doesnt finish work till the 23rd but has been knocking off early most days since most of the guys are on leave and they are basically setting up for the section to be closed for 12 days. They are on skeleton staff at the moment.

I need to do some more washing. It is time to do a nappy load again but we also need clothes for our holidays. Oh and exciting news, Mum and Dad are changing there trip back to while DH is away!!! I will get a break in that 12 weeks!!!!!

WOTB: some sort of CT and booster combo that DH did.

Gigi- hun my rent is not half of my money (prob would be but i have 3 children) One thing you are not takking into account is child support, dont forget he has to pay you.. he can not get out of it now. Centrelink has a child support estimator that you can use.
Unfort if the rent you pay is that high you will def have to cut back on luxuries, even compromise with where you live.
YOu could always visit me to have your Net fix I promise!!!

Its hard but there are services you can contact, The Smith family, the Salvation Army

and yes the pension card has its benefits, cheap prescriptions, you are entitled to a phone allowance, i get arrox $30 off my elect bill a mth, $30 of my rego renewel, then when ever concession is avaible you are entitled.

Being as you use MCN you will save a bundle as well
