OMG Jett is having a ball with the Itti's He gets to pick his own colours so we're learning what colours are what AND enjoying 'pimpin nappies'. He even took his nappy off when it was wet and said 'oops potty!' so it may even help with the TTing!

ETA - Put piccies up in our cloth folder via Gallery if anyone is interested in the newest cloth converts

Kat - D'oh!!! 2 yr old boxer is like having another toddler around!!! Bored central... you know the rules.... 30 minute walk a day, daily training (not for behaviour but for boredom!) and stimulation stimulation stimulation!

*some extra stimulation ideas* (just in case you haven't tried these )
-make ice blocks with a handful of dog food in a takeaway container with a touch of stock & water.
-soak some rags in lime/citronella and hang on the washing line so whenever she tries to get something off she gets the yuck taste thing
    - hide treats around the yard.
-don't feel out of bowls at all anymore. Only when you are away throw dry biscuits throughout the yard... We throw a cup of dry biscuits everytime we leave the house and at night before bed give them a cup each.

    Anyway.... nappies..... nappies... nappies...

Maz great!!! I'm so glad you found somewhere laundry rocks!

WOHB: new magicall.... has worked great guns so far, Jovie takes it off whenever she wee's so it doesn't get overfull

Our labrador used to eat kongs, and we would fill coke bottles or milk bottles with dry kibble and that lasted oh... 5 minutes. But the ice blocks and throwing the kibble throughout the yard worked a treat with her.

Nappy central has turned into puppy central We don't have a dog, so I can't join in here. Euan thinks they are ace because they are so unfamiliar to him, he thinks the wagging tail thing is just awesome. He reminds me of a little puppy dog (he drools a lot and pants when he gets very excited) so it's not surprising that he likes them.

Mazzy - you are a STAR!!! Thanks babe! And when you see that lovely little gem, please give her a soft kiss on her beautiful forehead from me.

I want fluffy mail - and I so don't need it. *sigh*

All of my nappies are very grey right now, we've been having to give Euan panadol at night because of these molars, and I'm drying inside because of the humidity (and because I can't be bothered taking my rack in and out of the flat to catch the sun), so they'll be grey for a while. Oh well, they'll fade eventually...

terutera - i make my liners to suit the inside of the nappies (that we have). To make sure you make them LONG enough, remember to stretch out the nappy long ways (from tummy side to back side) as that is how the nappy will be, once it's on your child. When nappy is scrunched up, it makes the length look shorter. so don't forget that one.

different nappies have a different sized "wetzone", i often make bone or hourglass shaped ones, or even keyhole ones (spread out round at the back end, just straight at the tummy end).

as long as what you make, covers the "wetzone", you're laughing.

so maybe get out a tape measure, lay out a few types of nappies you have, and measure the narrowest part of the width.
stretch out the nappies longways to see how long you'll need them.
them have a play, deciding which shapes to cut out.

you can always do a test run.

cut out the size you THINK you'll need, out of PAPER, and test it out on a nappy (just laying it on top of the inner to see with your eye, if you have got it or not.

when you have a paper on you're happy with, that becomes your TEMPLATE to cut out the others.

that's a cheaper way of stuffing up, that immed cutting into material! Esp if you're using expensive fabric like raw silk or bamboo velour!! but the microfleece and flannelette liners are cheap.

you can make the liners out of

    • raw silk from nappies covered (if you need therapeutic ones for nappy rash),
    • cotton velour, bamboo velour, flannellette (if your child is rashy and you need the natural fibres to increase breathability) or
    • microfleece if you're going for the "stay dry effect".

Microfleece is normally sold at spotlight, but as a winter stock item, so hard to get this time of year.

We are moving on the 27th, ridiculous timing no?!

alioops - I think I am having similar issues to what you were having re: instant redness when not in spossies... what did you end up doing??? (Help!! I want to get Punk back in cloth THE SECOND we arrive in our new house!)

    Anna - Ittis ROCK!!
