I would use them, if it's a hassle to your IL then take them home and wash them?

ARIMEH - does SIL know that sposies give your child rash? that might change her mind.
Are you staying in a town, that would have a laundrette? That would prolly be the scenario for me, if we went to visit my MIL, cos i doubt she would let me use her machine. Laundrette would be a pain, waiting around for the load to finish, what to do with bilby in a laundrette etc. only way i can think of.
there's an article "what's in a disposable" on the nurture nappies website, look across the top, click on the link called RESOURCES or INFO, something like that. To show your SIL.
wow that is very informative!! I should print some off to hand out when I get thelook from people.
Yup she does. But she doesn't have children so probably doesn't empathise
I have thought about using the laundromat!!! I would say that they have one up there. I would say that since we would be getting up earlier than her in the morning (she sleeps in till around 10 - ahhh I remember those days when you didn't see the sunrise!!) I'll just put it on first thing in the morning and if she asks I'll blame DH... lol
But I'm thinkin of takin all the pocket nappies for him (cos I can use them at night for him) and some ittis, flats and BBB .
Dunno what to take for her though, hers aren't really quick drying... hmmm...![]()
I'll be taking a suitcase full of our nappies when we go to QLD in September....2 weeks worth. When we got our accomidation the first thign I asked was if it had a washing machine and the lady said why yes and I said great cause I need to wash my nappies...she told me that was wonderful!!!! See there's still people out there who love nappies as much as us
I has my nappies out on the clothes horse yesterday and didnt brign them in last ngiht...and now ts raining so their getting another rinse...OH:
WOMB - Cow print Iish Fly
bum - typed a long post and lost it all to Cyberspace Black Hole!
Arimeh - do you have bamboo trifolds and covers for M? that is the quickest drying solution i can think of for her age group. i also used malden mills pockets with bamboo trifolds (at her age) for bilby's sleeps. another quick dry solution.
good idea to use washing machine when SIL is asleep, how sneaky we have to be, just to use MCN!!
don't forget to take the wash powder you use at home to wash MCN, SIL might only have the stronger strength type.
a travelling clothesline (double length of elastic twisted together) might be useful too.
MAZ - ENvoy nappies (on minicuteture site) have COW embroidered ai2s
GiGi, I need your address again, can you PM me please
Im going to be a slacker and take mostly sposies for two nights on our trip up to Cairns next weekend, they will be in cloth when we are actually at the hotel (I booked an apartment with a washer/dryer) but sposies when we go exploring as the boys are heavy enough to lug around without a bundle of sopping wet Itti's hehehehe
Anywho just a quick pop in to say Hi, really should be cleaning and need to grab some odds and ends from the shops too. And wash..........clothes not MCNs, they get washed every day![]()
Just a quicky to answer Gigi's question - yep, it was a communal pool, but fortunately, no one else was in with us at the time. We're only in a small block of eight units, so it's rare that anyone else is in the pool at the same time. We just got as much out as we could and figured that that is what the chlorine is for LOL. I always wondered if the seal on the Bambino Mio was a bit dodgy, but Mum bought it for him so I've been using it. Maybe not so much now...I had an Imse Vimse (which I liked, but is way too small for him now), but I think I'll look at the motherease one as well.
Mel - if your SIL complains about you using her machine, just ask if she'd rather pay for (and then deal with) the dirty disposables.
Euan managed to soak through a WC daydreamer in about 20 minutes this morning. I think he had his big morning wee just after he got changed, because his night nappy was dry. But he has been weeing like a champion lately, he's discovered the joy of drinking through a straw and now his water bottle is his new favourite toy. We were over at a friend's house late yesterday afternoon and Euan was running around their massive yard, then drank a whole bottle of water and had a huge boob feed, then soaked through a GK, which he's never done before.
WOHB: Cute Tooshies and Red Wool Sugarpeas cover. That is, until the super scary stinky one-end-of-the-nappy-to-the-other massive sticky evil poo he just had which I'm sure weighed more than him, and he immediately rolled through, then shrieked like a banshee at the resonant frequency of my brain because I wouldn't let him roll around, then finally we got a Bamboozle and wool soaker on his butt, a boob in his mouth, and he was asleep in five minutes. Whew.
Gigi - noooo.. no bamboo trifolds hereGot lots of covers though.. lol.. I'll probably take her AIO's - bumg's and MD's - they don't take too long to dry really.. and her ittis... dunno what else.. I'll have to think... She is a bit too skinny for the GK otherwise I'd use them... hmm...
Suse - you always crack me up with your WOHB... love it!!!!! Even made DH read that last one I was so very impressed
Just got back from the docs. DS has another red ear - so ear infection I would assume - so now on antibiotics for it.... said nothing was wrong with Miss M - so she is just pooing yellow sludge cos its cool I guess.
WOAB: GK - Red
WOMB: Swaddlebees - blue
