Yep Kat, the only reason you may need to go to bunnings is to get a longer hose than the one the LS comes with (it works out cheaper than using their free replacement hose coz you dont need to pay postage) I had to do that coz my tap is too far from the loo.

Anna - What colour container is your pawpaw ointment? Dont use the red one!! I use bepanthen ointment more than pawpaw because it is more readily available when I am in a hurry.

Saram - I just discovered one of my new nappies has a dodgy snap. Can I drop it round to you to get fixed please? It is one of the sockets on the front so it is kind of an important one.

Nana - You could get a MF booster and have snaps on the ends of it and snaps on all your nappies, MF is a good cleaning cloth!!

Well I went to target today. A few friends are having boys so I could justify buying some blue, even if this bub is another girl, but we will find out on Friday if I get to keep the blue things. I bought 2 pale blue jumpsuits, 1 navy blue jumpsuit, and 4 boyish bodysuits. I also got a second nappy bucket to keep near the toilet for pooey nappies to go in once they have been LSed so they dont drip all over the house.

whats wrong with the red/lucas paw paw ointment?
will moo goo be OK to use with cloth?
DS had the same rash yesterday as you were talking about (sorry cant remember who it was) and it was heat rash.

Ray the red one uses petrochemicals which coat nappies and reduce absorbency.

the red Lucas pawpaw has a petrochemical base which is a) bad for baby's butt and b) inhibits the absorbancy of the nappy by leaving a residue in there.

You can get black Lucas pawpaw which is petrochemical free or use either Simmons or nutraceuticals pawpaw creams...both those are pretty good too. Moo Goo is also fine with cloth!

there are PETROCHEMICAL based nappy rash creams
very thick, don't rub in totally, often called barrier creams
they are the ones that interfere with mcns functioning well
cheat's way to get around this, is to place a liner in the nappy, so the liner cops the cream, not your mcn.
the red tub - Lucas paw paw salve fits into this catergory btw.

there are NON-PETROCHEMICAL based nappy rash creams
they rub into the skin easily
they do not interfere with mcn functioning
liner is optional
the black tube - Lucas
the yellow tube - Simmons (online you can get it at ecobabe)
paw paw salves fit into this category.

i try the non-petrochemical ones first, at the first sign of redness. we only use the "heavy artillery" (the petrochemical based ones) if NOTHING else works.

mummytummy, you were after some sort of AIO reccy's - now i forget what your criteria were - oops.

Queen - ouch about the suedecloth reaction. We have a few nappies that i can't bear to retire, despite the inners causing bilbs grief, so my solution (and it's worked in our case) is to use those nappies sparingly, and lie inside them a natural fibre liner. so the tradeoff is:
CONS: you don't use them as much, you lose the stay dry effect
PROS: you can use them still

RHYB: sorry to hear about your car blowing up.
you CAN get your rego refund. i paid an annual one, then was in a coma for months, then rehab, and got all the rego refunded (backdated to the start of the medical situation). Hmm, it might be a state by state thingy, so i hope i haven't got your hopes up, based on what i expereinced i nmy stgate. definately worth trying though.

just to let you know before buying anything extra from Bunnings for Little squirts , Please ring Little Squirt Company .. They do supply the bits you need if your loo is different ... and its often Free ..... they Have a Lifetime gaurntee .. and are so helpful ...

Nixon wet through a KK last night . checked the size and it was a Med/long .. so i gess why all the wee cam over the top .. that was DH's fault ..

MissyMoo - i forget about nappies too, your not the only one

I have been trying to Email Saram too .. I bought a nappy off her through the classifieds and paid , but now i cant seem to get contact with her ..

I use bottom balm. I think i got it from wahmnaps... or ozebaby... one of those

firstly i'd like to say these random q's are soooo annoying

we use the neutraceuticals paw paw ointment, its great

I also use Miessence bottom balm and the spray, and have had to use sudocreme a couple of times (but i think the miessence balm actually works better!!)

I do put a liner in with the spray - it is a salve - do I need to??

I hope some fluffy mail arrives today, along with it should be a lanolin spray and a new wool cover

Matisse went through 3 nappies first thing this morning - as soon as she had a fresh one on, she pooed (still on the change table), TWICE!! So after night nappy and two changes we are now on the fourth nappy for the morning.

SHe doesnt seem to be a heavy wetter overnight - last night she was in an iisfly all night and it was just damp this morning - but her first morning nappy is always saturated.

I need to get in conact with saram too - if only my sill inbox wasnt full!

I agree Kitten - they are a pain! James is a bit the same as far as wetting goes, as I mentioned a few days ago, he has had nights where he has woken up almost dry (hard to tell in a Huggies

but then will have loads of big wee's when he wakes up. I'm trying a few different nappies I have overnight to see how they go. The BG seemed ok and last night he had a boosted GK and no problems. It was really full but not leaky thank goodness and that was from 8-8!

Has anone used the Aromambaby barrier balm? I have a huge tub of that and was wondering if I can use it with my nappies? What nasty ingrediants should I look for - it is all organic and natural which is why I got it in the first place! Ok off to MG now and not turning on the computer until tonight. Well that's the aim - will see how I go in reality!

as for Little squirts...i was just going to buy the cheaper on that someone mentioned the other day...is cheap enough with express postage....thats why i asked about the 'fixed' supply pipe to the toilet... as this mentions 'must have a flexible supply pipe to the toilet'
Got a whole heap to wash today..must do it soon..so they get on the line earlier and have time to dry

Got a couple of itti's. At 15 months DD is still on the tightest snap setting of a medium, not crossed over, so i got more M, but wondering if i should have got L...... hmmmm oh well, just thinking out loud really!
