OMG!!!! I just received my BBH pack I ordered thru Lea. I've never held a BBB before. They are soooooo soft! They're just divine! Thanks so much Lea!

I'm gonna wash them all so I can put Ty in new soft BBB, not the harder, 2nd hand BBB which he was in last night - which btw worked brilliantly with a Maz cover. Go Maz! I think I need more Maz covers in a large.

I'm off to meet Janie from The Wee Wuns this morning. I first contacted her when I started shopping but for various reasons we've had to delay the visit until today. I'm going to have to buy something from her - even though I've probably got enough nappies to last me. Oh well, I'm happy to go and see what she's got!

okies - speaking of wipes, how many do you think i'll need? ball park figure? and what materials are best for bub (esp one with sensitive skin - if she is anything like mummy, it will be bad!)? also, does anyone use those soapy things to add to wipes, or just plain old water? and how do you cart them for days out? was thinking of maybe getting a tupperware container or something, and keeping them in that - if they DO dry out a bit, it takes nothing to add a bit more water... or is a wetbag type thing a better idea?

i'm full of questions at the moment! sorry ladies...

bg - i use one wipe per bum change. i wet half of it under the tap - use that half to clean, then pat her dry with the dry part.

i dont use any solutions - just plain water.

i would say 1 - 2 dozen? i rate the swaddlebees velour cloth wipes highly (heaps in stock at the weewuns)... i have 15 of those

for going out i use seventh generation wipes......

I have wipes from FJ..lovely sherpa ones.....my older 2 will often grab them for face washers in the bath aswell....
as for parts being cheaper on the rip off LS....i assume it wasn't just thrown together and has been tested...wach to their own anywhoo....the way i see it.. if it does the job...no need to pay BIG $$$ which i can then spend on nappies...hehehehe

On the subject of LS, I've just had to change the worst poo ever, so no more putting it off I'm getting one NOW. I've been trying to get DH to Bunnings (who would've thought it's so hard, it's his favourite store) to get the parts to build one as he's quite handy and likes doing that sort of thing, but he's been ignoring me as he's been busy doing other stuff and I can't wait any longer. So Lea, you got yourself one more customer.

As for wipes I have to admit I'm a bit of a cheapskate. I have some nice bought ones that I use for going out, and at home too, but I've also cut up some old terry flats and use them first to get the worst of the poo off, then I use the nice, soft bought ones for the detail clean. In my defence I always dry the wipes in the dryer so they're all nice and soft and not scratchy on my babies' bottoms.

i think i'm a bit of a weird one - i want everything to be "just right" for this bubba because we've been through so much to get her. i'm not stressing on the money aspect of it kwim? i'm still looking for bargains, but i don't want to be running short of stuff that i need. i will be doing the single mummy thing most of the time, so am looking at convenience for me - dont' want to run out of something essential... i also live 40k round trip from the nearest shops, so i can't afford to run out of nappies! i'll always have face washers for at home - but if i'm gonna do the mcn thing, i'm gonna do it right! lol

BG Im getting mum to make me some wipes with flannel on one side and terry on the other. IN the meantime I've been using terry cloths that I have and also some Maz wipes. I use Bubblebubs foamy wash which is all natural and smells delish one pump of that on his bot and I keep a pump water bottle on the change table as well. I'm not that organised for going out yet so Im still using disposable wipes. I know some girls keep wet wipes in a little zip lock bag or you can take them dry and use a water bottle ( I have a pump water bottle everywhere around my house, car and nappy bag!) Google seventh generation babe but they are biodegradable wipes that you can get.

it's funny how much the ivf game messes with your perception of things isn't it Katones? i have had many "heated discussions" with my brother - he has three kids and thinks he knows it all - he just doesn't understand how different your headspace is after going through so much trauma (though he's learning very quickly!)

kitten- thats quite a stash, u should b set for winter. aio take awhile to dry so if u're worried u dont hav enough have some prefold or extra inserts so u can use ur pockets if u r ever on the low side of things
kat- would u consider GK for nanny goat? they dont come with inserts bt u can always make them?? would dry quicker then magicalls. Plus magicall tends to smell a lil cos of the microfibre so will need to b stripped every so often
bg- ive been told 24-30 wipes should b a good number. plain ole water should be just fine. at home i either wet it under the tap or use a spray bottle when im lazy. when going out, u can either have a separate wipes bag r jst put 2 dry wipes in ur nappies. most parents room hav taps, but bring a bottle of water jst in case.
gigi- looks like im gonna start saving some money for our lil trip to adel. just hope we hav time to drop by the shop thou im gettin excited now haha
for those that sew- hav u ever used PUL film? im thinkin of gettin some to try instead of a hidden pul layer, so want to know whether its fiddly to use or not. TIA

for those that can wait, GDUNH is jst round the corner!!
