ETA - BG - Iish fly mush have had 2. Just got an update saying it has been posted!!
i got me the same email so it musta been one she had two of! woot - purple AND pretties - i'm in love!

Squid - couple of suggestions for you hun - jump into the MPM section and look at what ladies sell cloth nappies in there - i know at least a couple of them have full on explanations of the different nappies on their sites. service from them has been fabulous.

another thing - there is a sticky thread with q's for newbies in the MCN section - jump in and have a look in there - some really good info

you don't need to soak ANY MCN's - just wash them - i'm in the process of pre washing all my nappies at least a few times each (the last thread, Gigi posted a list of how many times to wash each type of material) - soaking doesn't help absorbancy - it's the process of washing and drying (like new towels!)

i got me some fluffy mail today - two panda baby's! i know people have said they don't have great leak proof characteristics (posted two days AFTER i ordered lol) so when i get to use them, don't be surprised if i ask q's on extra boosting!

Kitt3n, bummer about the black dynasty. They were yours and mine, and you didn't get one. I didn't get oen eitehr/. Forgot all about the stocking. I'm glad you sorted out the widdlewuns too. It's a shame it wasn't a medium/large cause I soooo wanted it. It was just too pretty. In the end I just got my g/f a fuchsia D'lish. I know she'll love it. It will be her first foray into MCN, so it will be a nice if not standard/basic start into the business. My g/f thinks she only needs about 8 nappies to keep her going - she uses flats - but I'm hoping she's not too sensible and catches the MCN bug. Anyway, i'm going to indulge her daughter in gorgeous napies as I come across them. I barely can fit any more where I store mine. Not sure waht to do.

    WOTB: BBB with BBH wool

Must google the same Kitt3n and see what minkee you'rea talkinga bout.

    HI all!

squidipa - welcome to the very addictive world of MCN :-) The MPM link is here (I'm assuming these links are still OK as it's within BB? ) It is really confusing when you first get started with all the different terms etc. Arimeh explained them really well and yes there is a FAQ in the cloth nappy thread.
Basically - flats (terry squares or flanellette), fitteds (shaped nappy) and prefolds (like flats but more sewn in the wet zone) all need covers
pockets - have a waterproof outter and a fleece or organic cotton against babys bot and a little opening at the back where you put the insert (absorbant material)
AIO - all in one or AI2 all in two is everything ready to go, usually the boosters or absorbant parts are snapped in but some are sewn in.
One size or OSFA means they fit from birth to toilet training and you can get fitteds, pockets and AIO in OSFA variety. In most cases from reputable stores, you pay for what you get, the ones in K-mart etc are filled with wadding - like a cushion so not absorbant at all, don't even bother with them. Everyone finds different brands suit their bubs so maybe look into stores that offer mixed packages. PM if you want store details.

We had a bit of a nappy disaster today - went out without nappies - don't ask me how I managed this, and of course within a hour or so DD had drunk half a litre of water and peed right through her nappy - so we found the nearest baby store (we were furniture shopping) and what was the smallest pack of naps available - 127!!! So I now have 127 disposable nappies to slowly add to landfill. I figure that should do us until not only Ari is toilet trained but until my neice is too :-)

Hope all are well, sounds like there is lots of fluffy mail flying around at the moment - very jelous. i am banned :-( Got to see the Pop in nappy yesterday while visiting sam and repairing some snaps (oh Gigi and Ali - fluffy mail coming your ways :-) - very noice!!! Love that bamboo terry - just want to snuggle up with it!!!

Yup babies galore - I had been avoiding the place (since I am having serious baby envy at the moment) - Ari thought it was Christmas. I said to the lady I would never use all those nappies and she laughed at me I said we use cloth and showed her Ari stunning yet sopping wet bum - No still have it here was going to hand deliver your fluffy mail :-) Are you free Friday we are going to MOPS at Mt Lousia House of Praise if you want to come along.

Thanks, it was my baby but no longer, sold it to my lovely demonstrator in June last year and she has done a wonderful job with the business and especially in fixing all my spelling mistakes :-) We all remember how confusing those first ventures into MCN were - so many acronyms :-)

I have wing droop with my Honey Boy!!

How do you fix wing droop when its velcro?! I know how to with snaps, but no matter how many times I stretch it across his hip, it sneaks back under... bahhh!!

I'm hesitant to put him in a bigger size (its a medium) because its a bit gappy already under his legs.....he obviously needs chubbier legs!!!!

(But on a very happy chunking up note - Miss M is now 7.5kg!! wooooHOOOOooOOOOO!)

    WOAB: The said Honey Boy
WOMB: Something underneath a maz cover.. nope, it escapes me what the hell I put on her...

i have boosted the one i got and had no probs!!! so it is in use again!!! because after the first wear and it didn't last more than 1/2hr and was saturated..i was going to keep it for emergencies!!

Kitt3n!!!!! why did you mention fluffy bubs??? i just bought one of the minky OSFM....

Mel - not sure on wing droop with velcro nappies as we don't often use them. Where are you fastening towards the middle or towards the outside? Is it the underneath (centre panels) that are drooping?

had the poo from hell this morning - DH put Pip in a sposie again, I smelt something, assumed it was the dogs. Nope - it was Pip. Poor little munchkin. All up his back The sposie was stuck to him and I had to shower it off him - so gross!

Least now he's in a nice, clean BBB with IV PUL cover and he's at CC.

Bah I did a post about the droop and lost it.. grrr

Saram - yeah its the centre panel that is drooping below the sides that they are tucked into. Don't want to size up because its already a bit gappy in the legs. And I can't have the velcro out any further cos it would fall off him if he stood up... he's got a pretty skinny waist this boy of mine!
