    Sure can
Tracking map is bringing the forecast closer, According to the forecast Townsville should get strong gale force winds at least. Better go newspaper the main bathroom fairly soon. I dont want dog poo everywhere!!

Nappies are in the machine and I will hang them on the airer soon. Got the power bill the other day so trying to avoid constant use of the dryer for a while

I did it again. I flooded the house with the greywater hose. That's the third time now. I'M FIRED...
DS's red longies have been washed a few times and thoroughly lanolised and they still leave big pink stains on his sheets. Flongies would be a much better option here, but I'm going to have to make them myself. But I know that by the time I get the time to do any sewing, he'll be in high school! hrmm....

Yay Katones on the Lou Lou doing so well, Punky must be weird shaped lmao. As mel says though, every baby is different & one persons favourite nappy might not work for somebody else.

I STILL haven't made flongies, although I've been meaning to... the gorgeous Gigi emailed me all the goods on making them months & months & months ago... (I'm sorry Gigi!!!)

Yay Maz, thank you hun!! You'll notice I didn't manage to find anything else... That will have to do for now.... just as well you are awesome & it's all purty & special like! Cherubs Kiss....!! That's what I was trying to remember when I was telling you about that other forum I'm on, remember...? The lady that makes those is on there too.

Cheeky, if you google "flongies pattern" or "flongies tute" you'll get some good results. Flongies are fleecie longies, usually with an extra/double thickness in the "wetzone".

rhyb - He's great isn't he...? I've been thinking today of all the great RZ merchandise there could be... have you seen those hello kitty toasters...? I can just see my toast baring the image of Rob instead lmao....

    Hey chatty ladies,

Well, I finally bit the bullet and after recommendations on here I went and ordered THREE sandmans!!! OOOooerrrr $$. I am so excited about getting them but they have to be made up first so I wont get them for a few weeks. Soooo sick of dripping wet terry/booster combos that are falling of Bugalugs by morning. Ah so exciting!!!

Must ask more advice tho, sorry. I'm attemptint the nappy hunt for the first time and I cant find anything!!!!! I have tried a couple of minihunts but they have lead nowhere and some sites with no hints or anything... do I have to look at every single bloody product on their site to find a single icon??? Cant hack it if I do have to

WOCB: two terrys with bamboo boosters, orange stars tots wrap.

Sazz you need to follow the clues And yes some sites I have had to click on every product lol
Maybe skip the ones you are having trouble with and move onto an easier one The ones at ozebaby are easier. Don't even attempt the extreme until you are more confident... that's what made me quit last year!! And now I have 44 icons and 4 extremes

Hi all, trying to stay awake for next cyclone update while studing = impossible so thought I would pop in here - man you gals can talk!

Gigi - trainers were the GF ones I was telling you about. We used them today with the inserts in like a nappy- need to put snaps on them as it was a real battle to pull them up with the insert in over her chunky thighs - imagine me holding her up by the pants and shaking her into them crotch seems pretty narrow to me - 13cm at it's widest. I'm going to try them without the insert tomorrow so will let you know. BTW she kept them dry - so maybe they will be good luck for us

longies (woollen) and flongies (fleece) are great for over night nappies Katones.

    what are flongies?
OUTER LAYER: looks just like a pair of trackpants, made out of polar fleece
INNER LAYER; either a pair of shorts, sewn in, out of microfleece, OR a "sling"

or ones made out of Malden mills fleece, only one layer.

i've also made a bumjumper version of them
you get an old 100% wool jumper and recycle it with scissors and a sewing machine
i made one layer the pants, one layer the sewn in shorts
lanolised it and used it as a bumjumper/flongie type thingo
    worked great

( a true bumjumper is a recycled jumper made into longies e.g no shorts inner ).

    Kitten -

Charmlea - to add to the list of Asutralian made trainers,

    • bongo baby
    • noonee wilga
    • genesa forge (extra charge if you want embroidery on the butt).
    • daddle doo

    welcome Jess

Willow - Possum Pouches has a newbie cloth set, click on CEEYJAYS at the PP site to see wot i mean, bargain.

GL for MOnday Rhyb!! hope the surgery goes well

    GL for cyclone survival Alioops.

they have been reduced in price from 40 to 30 on the Possum's Pouches site, i am amazed, Miss Possum Pouch doing her bit for cloth advocacy again.

and Maz, her longies are a good price and beautifully made too.

i haven't seen minky flongies for ages. sounds lovely and pattable!

i think i was typing my post, when you posted yours.

nope, my memory did not remember you talking about the GF trainers, i'm surviving on not much sleep (can't stop worrying about our housing situation, it keeps me awake til 4am) - so my memory is not great.

so why are they funky? i looked on the GF site, plain fleece outer? or am i missing something?

did you get the medium or the large?

the description made it sound like they have a booster snapped inside them, so i assumed the booster would sit still while you put htem on your child. but from your description, the booster DOESN"T stay put. or are the snaps ONLY at one end?

thanks for putting the crotch measurement - you read my mind!

i finally realised today, the Starbunz trainers go on BACKWARDS! maybe that's where i went wrong with the 2T size - gah - i feel like a drip!

feeling very impatient with Aust post for my fluffy mail!

i'm learning that bilby doens't need nappies when out (and it's so hard to put the nappy back on her, when she's standing up in the toilet room), but knickers are not enough, so she really does need trainers when out, for now, cos she has an aversion to "strange" toilets! Ours and childcare one - fine. any other toilet - ewwwww, no way jose. but i did get her to wee on ONE shopping centre loo just fine. no logic.

i wish i had a sewing machine, to sew bamboo boosters into the crotch of some knickers. so simple, wouldn't take me long, IF i had access to a machine. hmm, maybe i should SNAP them in instead? i know someone with a snap machine.

dh keeps talking about buying me a fancy sewing machine. if only he bought it instead of talking about it. all these mcn making fabrics i have, but no machine. so frustrated. and yes, i have trainer patterns all ready to go. sigh.
