He's down for his nap, BBB with CFA soaker :)
LS, I know, I know!! That is the killer though isn't it - they ARE pretty! I vowed to post mine on B4B like 2 days after I got them... but I never have! I have them in my 'desperation' pile but I don't know why - I always regret using them at all.
Hugs missyMel! That would be so hard. How come you don't like pockets? I like them cause they are quick drying.
NaNa- I don't think I was part of this thread when you talked about Mini La La's...I would have listened :D I think they are so pretty. I really hope I can get some. I think i will cry if I miss out.
I have an amber necklace too, not sure if its helping Em but I'm willing to try. I wanted the mums and bubs set too but got one off Ebay aswell
Mel I think I will try some ecobubs and thanks for the feedback on the haute and to you you Saram. I have the hot pink one so we will see how it goes.
That's a shame about the loulous LS, I am glad I just have one! I find that with BGs too the big gap emily has small hips but a big belly
there is a mini lala on b4b at the moment girls... ;)
QM - lol....see if I get rid of them I can buy another iishfly ;)
WOHB: TB fluffle and maz skull and crossbones cover
I dont like pockets cos I hate stuffing them ... call me lazy but it's true. I don't mind about drying time. I have enough to go about 4 days without washing. And I have a drier if I really need it.
I like pockets cause they are easy for DH & Childcare to use. I don't like the soaker for EcoBubs though, I prefer bamboo or hemp.
WoHB - BBH with pul cover.
eej - ya, I know... I would have got one by now too, but they are just so.... um, pretty! Not many gorgeous, funky boyish nappies around that I like. There was one sugarshot that I would love, but Miss Katones is a super speed-clicker and beat me to it!
I have the mum and bub set of amber necklaces. Wish I hadn't taken it off again yesterday because now I've got a sore throat. Every time I take it off something happens. Coincidence? I don't know. But DS is ALWAYS yanking on mine. Ignores his completely tho.
I think I'm completely over pockets now too. I got heaps because I was living in an apartment before, with no direct sunlight on the balcony and needed quick-drying nappies. But we've moved to a house with a clothesline in the back yard (and nothing else!) so it's no big deal anymore. But now my BumGs are looking a bit tatty, and it's a bit exxy to replace my stash now just because. Oh well! I live vicariously thru everyone here :) It's sometimes tempting enough to TTC #2 just to buy more, but DS is enough of a handful right now.
WOHB: chilli sandman and red longies
Nana how do you pronounce Aadi's name? is it like ah-di or a-dy or something completely different? lol
it's pronounced ah-di. Thanks for asking!
WOHB: same same, and he's sleeping! OMgoodness gracious me! Can this be true??
:hello:
I'm exhausted, so thats all I wanted to say.
:hello:
lol hi mel! :)
Were you at the markets?
WOHB: free range
LS- thanks for the heads up on the mini lala I have put a bid on it but I don't know if I will get it, I don;t want to pay more for it than it is new!
NaNa- yeah the mini lala's are pretty girly so I'm glad I have a girl! There seems to be more for girls in general.
Yeah Mel how did the markets go?
Kaz- is the eco bubs insert microfibre ? I love that BBH magicalls have both! I think they are my favs of what I've got (not a lot)
Nana I love it :) Very cute ;)
Yeah Mel how did you go at the markets? convert anyone??
hiya all!
not a lot to say (seeing i don't have a kidlet in nappies yet) - but OMG - i got my Maz fluff from the past couple of stockings today - woot! DH LOVES it all. am seriously contemplating the notion of covering the floor and rolling in all the minky softness (would be great to do if floor didn't seem so far away and baby so determined to make mummy feel like crud!)
where is maz?
Ecobubs - yes, microfibre. I don't like it, it soaks up quickly without a doubt but doesn't hold a lot
Tried the denim nappy again and I think that yes, the cut is too high and cutting into his thighs. Will email her tonight.
WoHB - snoozywun
(Not a bubblebubs in protest about the nappy hunt)
lol kaz - bubblebubs getting you too?
anyone else feel high after a stocking nab??
What ya get Kitten?
Do it BG! Just watch the bump my lady!
Would be  if it didn't hurt
Kitten - I do love it but for now, I have to control myself. We have got a refinancing loan so we will only have my car and the refi loan instead of 2 CCs, DH's car, and my car, so only 2 lots of interest instead of 4. Should be a bit easier that way.
Gogo Mel - Sounds like you had fun if you are exhausted. Rest up gorgeous!!
Missy Mel - DH likes to avoid nappies too, but he will check for dampness and poo coz he doesnt like having to deal with NR.
WOEB: Caramel CT with extra booster and soaker
WOSB: Nature babycare sposie - sick of nappies being peed in within 5 minues of her having been to the loo and don't need any more washing.
wooooooooooooooo!
Yes Kitten, on a high!!
scored myself a beetlebums :)
*yawn* yep tired, good, yup going to bed soon, yup yup.
Ecobubs microfibre - I actually like it - it seems to hold a lot considering its only microfibre - maybe its the wool that makes it different to the microfibre in the PUL pockets - but I can get 4 hours no worries out of a ecobubs.
Yay for nabbing on stockings - thats brill - I don't even bother
Fluffy mail.. again not my missing parcel but CT's from B4B! They are very pretty quite different to the ones they have now. One is satin, its noice! I wish I'd got them friday cause I wanted Emily to wear one today to the BB meet up i'm going to, I want to wash them first.
Mel I def want to give Ecobubs a go, it will just have to wait until I'm back from adelaide.
I put my magikall bamboo's in my ecobubs, and its good!!! Kane has the raspberries and cream, so cute!!
I LUUURVE my pop in!!! I put one on Harmony last night, and didn't change her through the night, and it was great! The leg gussets are just fab, and for a OSFA, a great fit too....
Zavier (3) has been dry for a little while of a night, and wore undies to bed 3 nights in a row now, and been dry!!!
So now all his minkee magikalls and bubblebubs are for Kane!! But Za still puts a day nappy on sometimes, if he gets a CT pattern, like bumblebee or giraffe, and he takes it off, goes to the loo, and then wants it back on, sooo cute... so yesterday both boys had on awesome nappies and babylegs!!! I took photos, ill get them on FB soon... :D
WOKB.. bubblebubs
WOHB.. purple IB
haha can't wait to see pics of that PB... and yay for overnight success on the pop in!!!! I think they are pretty awesome too ;)
I have found a use for the honeyboy that I don't really like - I use it as the first nappy change for DS - cos he always does a morning poo.. bwhahahahahahahaha
Ahhh funny
No nappy news here. Hey, what are people's opinions on the beetlebums? They look pretty good, but are they good nappies (and not just something purdy to drool over?)
Of course.. not that I need more nappies  I think DH would SHOOT me if I got anymore... he was telling everyone yesterday that we have more than enough... lol... a lady asked me if I thought that 24 was enough for a stash and I'm like... welll I'm probably not the best one to ask considering I probably have around 150... LOL
Can I just say OMG GogoMel....................the end ;)
Mel - I've heard the beetlebums are good, I was curious about the wool boosters in them and how they will work with my wee machine, plus yup they are so pretty.
I got the peace out one, so we'll see how good they are when it arrives.
Speaking of which fluffy mail today, abby Gro from b4b OMG, love it, so many layers and no PUL all fleece, need more ;)
Anna - you're back!!! woohoo!!! and I'm guessing the OMG is cos of the amount of nappies I have... hmmm.... that could be a fair reaction I suppose.... ;)
Laura - shanks I'll be waiting for your review!
Sorry random but common question:
How many times do I prewash my AIO MCNs? I did one load (with 4 nappies and the booster things) with a tiny bit of wash powder and noticed that water was still beading on the inside of them (is this meant to happen) so I put them on another short cycle and hung them out to dry.
Weather very cool here so I haven't checked them yet but will see if they are dry after work.
i bookmarked this post from gigi - she is soooo helpful. have quoted the main bit, but will link it for you to read it all....
:
for the madly nesting mummies
some pre-washing the nappies to use on your soon to come newborn tips
- wash anything white separate, i mean loopy fabric like towelling flats, cos the lint that come off, the first few washes, you don't want that over everything else!
- do wash dark colours together. Every so often, i see a post like "HELP MY ENTIRE MCN LOAD TURNED PINK - AND I HAVE TWO BOYS!!!!" on various forums. Red pea pods have a reputation for running, and a few other brands too. So i say, err on the side of caution. Even if it's only for the first few washes.
- microfibre needs at least one prior wash
- bamboo needs three prior washes
- hemp takes between 6 - 8 washes to work up absorbency
- and yes, you DO need to dry them INBETWEEN the washes.
- if you have a thang for dark fleece covers/pockets/aios, invest in some zippered washbags. i just get dustmite pillow protectors, so cheap, big too. Pop the dark coloured fleece items in the zippered bag, your items will stay looking good for much longer - unless you LOVE de-pilling items. It very good for black stuff. a WAHM taught me that tip.

On no Mel, the OMG is a reference to the amount of nappies you will have ooooooooooh about 8mths or so in the future ;) 3 in cloth gives you complete leeway to own every nappy in existance hahahahaha Sneaky little so-and-so, couldnt wait til I got back online to announce, Im cut I tells ya :p
No cloth buying here for awhile seeing as I cleared out our meager savings to buy a laptop to indulge my reliance on the net and BB  I did get my TL embroidered nappy which was exciting. Finally got the LS thingy installed (Haaaaaaaaalelujah!) but Dh STILL refuses to use it and leaves poo nappies in the basin for me to clean like always, and he is so so lucky the dead comp isnt shoved up his nether regions right now so I kindly suggested he get used to using it or else..........mwuahahahaha Has made cleaning poo so much easier (if only I could have used it to clean poo off my couch this morning but that is a WHOLE other story and if I dont think about it Jett wont end up on Ebay grrr)
So did I miss any cloth-related excitement or goss???
Oh and congrats to Falguni on little Saskia's arrival YAY!
GogoMel - beetlebums are awesome. Narrow crotch, good rise, very trim, gorgeously and impeccably made. I've only tried the new style ones (with the pocket opening towards the front), but I 'think' that is the only difference between the old and the new. There's a few nice little features that show just how much the design has been thought about - the way the elastic casing is done is lovely, for example. They are not just a 'pretty' nappy, they're a great workhorse too. Really easy to stuff too, for a narrow crotch pocket.
WOHB: nuffin, about to have a shower.
Thanks Suse *mwah*
Anna - crap forgot you wouldn't have known my news.... sorry - can't announce it on FB yet either - don't want relatives or workmates to know the news!!! Soooo all hush hush yeah?
And woohoo for LS getting installed (*wipes brow with relief*) DH doesn't like squirting them, but feels bad making me do them all, so we split them. Yesterday was a good day, kids only did two each - today has been THREE already, and its only 10.30am... lol
I figured it was hush hush so dont panic. Your mad though you know that (Hello Kettle, my name is Pot  )
ROFL
Yes, I won't be the only mad one with 3 under 3!!!! LOL
Mine are 3 under 2.5 so Im certifiable and then some
ETA - Before I head off to do some cleaning .......... anyone know if Im right to use one of those lingerie wash bags to wash my embroidered nappies in? Or should I just use a silk pillowcase like I have been?
I use the lingerie bags for all my nappies Anna - but I don't have embroidered ones.
WOOHOO Welcome back Anna!!!! I want new laptop, or at the very least enough ram to speed this snail up!! 512mb is not enough to run Vista properly. When you house is just over 3 years old - watch out for the garage opener, mine has to be fixed either today or tomorrow (DHA are actually listening when I say it is urgent!!!)
Mel and Anna - Be very thankful that it isn't 2 sets of twins each, Nan had a 16 month old when the first set were born, and they were 11 months old when the second set were born. 3 under 3 isn't as insane to me ;) Can you imagine having 5 in nappies? Mel, your stash would be a minimum of 300.
Must get offline, Saram should be here very soon.
:happyforyou:
FLUFF :bluecheer:
Sanks Mel.xxx
I have decided that there is nuthin so cute as NB fluff.
Sigh.... makes it all worthwhile. Bubby has decided to cause me a hurtin at night time.
I think I want him out now.........
You're nearly there Shells... it'll be over before you know it...
Welcome back Anna! I want embroidered goodness too!
No nappy news here either... *sigh* have a renewed love for babylegs however... (until I get a layby Punky has more shorts than long pants lol)
