I can finger knit though -maybe I should try a pair of longies
pmsl !! me too , used to think i was so cool too .. one week i finger knitted a whole ball or wool !!!! chucked it in the bin as what the hell do you do with 50 of finger knitted wool

all i asked DH to do this morning while i had a few hrs off was to fold the washing and take it off the line , needless to say the xbox got a look in , but the washing is sprawled all over the couch .. bits of nappies here and there , and DH told me he couldnt find any nappies to put on her (lucky there were some "whole" ones in her room ..) but 1 quick sweep of the couch i could see atleast 4 nappies men eh ??

Starry - No I havent heard of her, otherwise I probably would have used her expertise I can't cut straight to save myself!! She might be on NC or NA, try the members in SA threads.

ll80 - I got mine from Greenbeans (NZ site) and have added snaps to the ones that needed an extra couple. My IF has 2 extra sockets and 2 extra studs to give it a little more skinny baby space. We get less wing droop on it now. The most issues we have are when they have 2 rows of snaps, but only 1 snap on each level per wing IYKWIM.

Lea - That's always the way I will have some nappies to fold at dinner time but now that I have everything together properly I *shouldn't* have bits missing again for at least a week. DH has a bad habit of putting whatever boster with whatever nappy, rather than matching snap and inner colour, so I can't put the nappies together if he has already made an attempt without checking that the snaps and inners match and leaving the ones that are completely different.

Kaz - Gigi is right Second skin is Opsite Flexifix. Last time I bought it it was $4 per metre approximately, and that has lasted us ages.

Well Miss Em has misplaced her soakers (or maybe that was DH or FIL) so there is no way to keep nappies on at nap time right now.

WOEB: Nada - She took it off and then went to sleep

Ren - I can't remember if its the moisturiser thats ok or the soothing cream that is ok to use with MCN's. Whats in it? That should jog my memory, cos I remember emailing them about it.

We just got back from shopping - I got myself a new calculator! I'm excited!! Ahhh yes, I'm a stationary addict. Sad.

Gigi - my CC uses cloth - flannel squares - just that they use the plastic covers. Will give them a pile of my covers to use .. I have opsite, spoke to the pharmacist and he recommended using it when there were no more blisters, so might put it on him tomorrow morning before CC ... and give them my "wipes solution" of pinetar Wish I had a small spray bottle though

Ali - thanks hun, I remembered you used it previously.

Ahhh Gigi, my mum phoned up and asked if I wanted "bloomers" for his TT - was very happy to say that I had a set of trainers ready to go when he was! I don't think its going to be for a little while, but hey

Very sore back, but my house is more-or-less clean!

WoHB - still a sposie, still have zinc cream on him ...

OOoh I just had the screamiest (yes its a word) child in the bath - and not the usual one either. Miss M got in the bath, was sitting in there for about 30 secs and just let out the most bloodcurdling scream - god it brought tears to my eyes!!! Just the PAIN that was in the scream.. jesus. Its official. I HATE teething.

She's all happy now though. My brave girl.

Oh then Mel you'd LOVE our business! We own a stationery shop you'd have a blast in our store....

the ingredients in the Gaia is mainly calendula based, with extracts like chamomile & wheat germ oil, lavender pure ess oil etc... i think i'll just make sure i use the liner when i use it.... or maybe just use Sudocreme with a sposie!

Waaaaaaaaaaaah my newborn/sm MCN stash is sitting on our spare bed ready to get sold on to new homes (along with a mountain of 0000 clothes)

Its only been 8wks but I had a little sook at the idea of him getting bigger. Will have to find some kick butt nappies to replace them with

Not sure if Im allowed to ask (so mods feel free to wrap me on the knuckles if Im being naughty) but if you were me where would you list my nappies/clothing to sell them on? Im not looking for alot of $$$ but alot of it is too good to be given away (some of the clothes werent even worn!)

glad you had a good time away Mazzie!

Kazbah - are you going to INSIST, on medical grounds, that CC only use YOUR covers? "those plastic pants/pilchers" are made of PVC - illegal to use in children's items in Europe, due to the fumes they emit. CCC have to keep kids nut free, all sorts of things like that, so no reason why they can't keep Pip "pvc free" etc. i just put on bilby's form, that she had skin irritation and reactions to "normal sunscreen, disposables nappies, disposable baby wipes" and that i would supply alternatives e.g organic sunscreen, modern cloth nappies - and i was prepared to supply Nature baby care sposie wipes (the only ones without propylene glycol) but ended up, the ccc used cloth wipes at 1st place, paper towels at her current place.

    How is his skin today?

Anna - it is sad when you realise your nb is no longer a nb, but then i guess you realise all the wonderful new things they're learning, and so you get to be happy about that - to make up for the being sad about them getting bigger.

    wotbb: bluberry with longies

i found out last night, when bilby wet at 6am, that if she wets, the blueberry trainer feels DRY on the outside, but the cotton pj pants i had on OVER the blueberry trainer, felt wet. so even though she had been dry for SO many nights running, i had gotten complacent and had begun putting her in pj pants again, maybe i should keep her in longies for longer. No sheets to change, the brollysheet did the job.

Kazbah, LOL at your mum and the "bloomers"! that's cute that she offered.

NaNa, i hope you get all your packing and last minute stuff done this week, i wouldn't be able to sleep (for excitement) either! I took our swaddlebees "travelling" too albeit only a few days interstate, but they didn't let us down.

Rhyb - for selling stuff, you have
    buyforbaby
    belly belly classifieds
    nappy chic
trading rooms on other forums too
babysoftlandings does 2nd hand mcn on consignment

Suse - long time no hear, hope you and Euan are going well

MelBel - i must contact you about ladybird embroideries

amber necklace saga, finally bit the bullet and ordered a 50cm one (my head is 58cm so i ordered one with a clasp). i found it so hard to choose the size to get.

has anyone here bought any Sahara Bloom bamboo clothing (adult sizes)? i need some advice.

Anna - I would use the BB classifieds if I was you - Being platinum they are free, and check the thread about linking to your ad in the plat section. Non plat members can still buy them but they can't advertise. Well done for being such a good milk machine hun, babies that DON'T grow are scary BTDT, I am actually looking forward to Leah outgrowing the NB stuff!!

Maz - We noticed, but you gave us warning - hence the no 'where's Maz' posts. Bummer about the SIL and sposies. She will get it together eventually though, she has enough MCN addicts around her to fall in love with them

Ren - The gaia should be fine if it has no petrochemicals, and is fully rubbed in (no white showing) The Hydrocortizone has been fine on Em's nappies because DH is rubbing it in fully and she doesn't have any white left on her.

This morning I got out of bed to find a big Aus Post box sitting on the table. My first thought was 'I didn't order any fluff' DH's cousin and his fiancee sent some stuff up for the girls. A polar fleece sleepsuit for Leah (should stay dry ) and some flanny PJs for the big girls and some shorts and a skirt for Em and some hair accessories for the big girls. They also sent an invite for their engagement party but I dont think we can afford 1 flight for any of us before tax time The party is the week before the brissy meet so we might have to say depending on when our tax cheques arrive, but Em will still be under 2 so we would both have 1 on our laps and Sarah would have her own seat. Still exxy for 3 tickets though. I think they want DH to be in the wedding too so it is really hard. His cousin was the best man at our wedding and they are really close. To make that more nappy related... When they have kids I think they might consider cloth but I might have some more work to do on that front Em's history is a big helper though, because I would have been able to tell she wasn't wetting nappies if she had been in cloth.

WOEB: Whatever CC have put on her. Could be anything, the drawers were full last night

GIGI- I dunno why you think you have a big head/neck (cant vouch for the neck) but can tell you that a 58 head is perfectly normal. The stocko size for a ladies riding helmet is 56-58.
And the bracelet I ordered from amberbebe doesnt have a clasp but has funny fishing line elasic-ey stuff. Its pretty stretchy. Glad to hear you found what you want tho

ARIMEH- if your username is a combo of your kids names, does that mean you will change when new bubs arrives, or am I completely barking up the wrong tree and it has nothing at all to do with them?
    Just wondering........

Lil man has had shocking wind this morn, poor lil bugger bib in soo much pain. Finally got some drops down him and he has crashed. But he hasnt had as much to eat as I would like

Jess, i have suggested the LS so many times, so will keep quiet about it now.

Shellsbells, when bilby had wind problems as a young un, the gripe water (the brand with zero alcohol in it) was our "magic potion", a dose of that, three minutes later, pop pop, squirt squirt, a look of relief on her face and a nappy to change!

i thought i had a big head, cos the amber necklaces were being sold at 44cm lengths, and i tried that on me, using a tape measure - like a choker! I bought a 50cm one, maker said they would make it "all in one" (no clasp) and then i thought, how will i get it on and off, over a 58 cm head? that's why i thought, i must have a massive head.

bilby had her first poo accident in trainers, since being tt-d (at my friend's house of course, just when her child had followed bilby into the loo, to see her go on the big toilet - he is on potty). i knew kids had accidents, AFTER being tt-d, esp when playing in a different environment, but still - i felt embarrassed - silly i know.

and yet again, it happened when she was unwell (coming down with another cold methinks).

my friend is very close to being ready to try her bub's first day in cloth, just waiting on Little Squirt to arrive, be installed by my dh, do her pre-washes.

we had fun today trying on a Fluffybubs night nappy on her dd, they have a fantastic booster system. i think it will dry very timely and many layers. They are beautifully made. Not a perfect fit, (as the sidesnappers are on this bub), but the best i think, a frontsnapper could be, on this child.

wotbb: blueberry trainers with longies (have retired the pj pants).
