what did they go for? I was watching them but layed down with Master Ash and we fell asleep together... I only got up half an hour ago and am feeding the older kids lol they just happily watched the telly, even though mummy was sleeping through dinner time!

Saw th auriels earlier, what did they get up to?
I dont have any exotic "collectors" nappies yet (got 2 wildchild blings but they dont seem to count like auriels, sugar shots and DMs)
I cant be bothered hanging around clicking the refresh button on stocking nights :)
I used to use a flushible liner, but that was when I was a newbie and was still a bit grossed out by poo. But TBH I forget them and or cant be bothered making sure they are not sticking out anywhere or are lying straight blah blah.
And now we have roll off poo, it isnt really an issue.
What sort of liners were you thinking?
I saw them about 4hrs before end of auction and they were up to $92 and $57 I think. Don't know if they got any higher.
SneakySparkle - I don't use liners unless I'm expecting a big yucky poop, or DS has had panadol.

ETA: The only "collector" nappy I own is a bling. One. To be honest I don't see the hype about them now that I own one, and I don't see the hype about all the other high sought after nappies.
Yeah CM, Gigi posted a while back saying that she had some really sought after nappies for Bilby back in the day and now the makers arnt doing them anymore or people have moved on and she has had trouble selling them cause they arnt the big "in" names anymore.
All you have to do is look at what the "old style" nappies of even the most sought after maker are selling for compared to the current style to be able to see that your prized nappy will only be "da bomb" for maybe a year.
Not saying that they are not outstanding quality nappies, they must be to get the good rep in the first place, but there are lots out there that will do the same job. KWIM?

Sneakysparkle - flushable liners are good if you don't have a little squirt, or just don't like poop getting on your precious nappies lol. I think raw silk liners are more for those bubs who's bottoms react to certain fabrics in the nappies. Other people also use microfleece liners, can't remember why lol
Shell - I think you're right. Just how long are these nappies going to be popular for? The thing I don't like also is that there are people out there selling them for wayyyyy more than they paid for them and they're USED. Or they're buying them listing them on B4B practically straight away.

SS I have flushable happy babes liners but rarely use them.

SS - I don't use liners - unless we are going away and I don't have my little squirt with me. Then I use the flushable ones.
I don't have many collector nappies - I have one DM (but would love more!) but I think thats it? I think I'm getting more selective now (ie won't buy a front snapping nappy that has less than 3 snaps etc) but I got an envoy on the mail today - and OMG.. I'm in love!!!!
So will have to give that a good test up against my Pee Machine!!
Sneaky - I still use liners, mainly because DD1's poop is so hard to get off nappies! It is really pasty, gross! I have happy babes flushables and microfleece and I prefer the microfleece, it keeps her bottom nice and dry. It also means I can use bum cream.

I think the microfleece is for the stay dry effect. Well, thats why I like it any way. I think silk requires a little special care so only peeps who have problem bums seem to use it.:)

Aw man, my bling is almost too small for Chubbs McGee :( He wore it for the first time yesterday (I forgot all about it oops) but this week all the cloth gets packed and he'll be in sposie for the next month or two (:( :( ) so by the time he can wear it again itll be too small.

the cup cake auriel went for something like $109 on B4B and the new one went for over $70. Lesley has new ones up and VHC ones on random stockings :)
We have changed over to auriels and side snappers...I have finally ordered the GF nappy :dance: I am HANGING to get it....rainbow colouring. Also have bought an eco wool pocket and im so happy to hear that their good on Jack Kat :). Have 2 more auriels coming...making it *gulp* 11 that we have. Have noticed a huge difference in Mateauz standing and walking since we swapped him over to side snappers...due to the higher rise in them that is supporting his hip.
Gotta make me some boosters for this eco today some time

not a lot happening here nappy wise except that i have to wash a heap this morning! went to MCHN yesterday then to mum's for lunch, and E went to sleep so instead of getting home about 3 and throwing all the washing on (we were running late or i'd have done it before we left) we got home at nearly 7 and she wasn't being little miss cooperative so will put it on soon
ummm - ooh, we got the CT wetbags - love them! so big and soft!
E has now put on enough chubbiness to fit WW's properly and is almost big enough for small itti's to fit. she gained just under half a kilo in a fortnight - yay my little piglet! mum changed her nappy for first time yesterday and put a WW on her - she was a little freaked about getting it all ok, and apart from having a teeny bit of booster out the back (so when she soaked it, her clothes got wet too - but i didn't see it either so i'll share the blame) she did really well - and has declared MCN's are "way easier than i thought they'd be" - go mum!
WOEB - a flat and maz cover of some sort. gonna have to dig out the 000 sleepsuits - the 0000's are getting a bit too firm when she has chunky cloth butt

Leah is only part time cloth until her thighs get some fat on them. We have major leg gape issues in most of her nappies, and she does 2 big ones per day atm. Considering we don't have many 00000 clothes I need to keep her as leak free as possible. Mum bought a pack of sposies which should hopefully last until the size small and osfa nappies dont have gaps.

I learnt yesterday - DO NOT put bamboo boosters in the washing machine with darker minky MCNs unless one sort is in the lingerie bags that I was using to check that the velcro stuff didn't come loose in the wash. I now have lots of white fluff bits all over the dark minky fabrics of my darker MCNs. It's only the first pre-wash for them both so will do a separate pre-wash later today to try and remove the lint look :redface: I didn't notice the same effect on the lighter coloured fabrics so I didn't realise that they would fluff up as much. Mind you I'm still getting used to a new washing machine, I managed to convince DH that we needed to upgrade from a 4.0kg to a 7.0kg machine that wouldn't leave lint all over clothes (opps:redface:). At least none of the other clothes have been linted since I started with the new machine.
leckert - I never had that problem with mine. What sort of nappies are they? To be honest I never had lint problems with any of my nappies. Wonder if it's only select brands?
Ali - Do you have prefolds and covers or just small/newborn mcn?
Unfortunately I can't do Thursday. I can't really do anything for a while now :( My mum arrives on Tuesday and goes in for major surgery which will leave me as her primary carer for a few weeks in addition to DS. The Dr's said 6-8 weeks and my wedding is 8 weeks away - unfortunately that's the hand we've been dealt.

im finding someone is outleaking his daytime sleep nappy and have been considering getting our old bamboo fitteds out for them...we still have a straight 3 hour nap here (wooo hoooo) and im getting sick and tired of having to strip the bed and his clothing every day

CM - 2 x Cushie Tushies Couture (with black fabric on the inside) and my Maz cover (again with black fabric on inside) mixed with Green Kids Bamboo boosters. None had been pre-washed and I figured it wouldn't matter if the boosters got a little dye on them to start with - eventually would come out. Will check if the lint-like stuff comes off after I do a couple of clothes washes before putting them thru the machine again - separately this time ;)
ETA -Maz - I don't have a dryer and not intending to waste $1 on the dryers at the Laundromat. BTW can your breast pads go in the dryer to finish drying if needed (might wast money on doing that later if I'm desperate after bubs appears)

CM - The only ones containg the pooplosions are prefolds and NB MAL covers. I have a few AIOs that dont have full leg seal, and lots of OSFM that she is too skinny for. Real little chicken legs on her! Bummer about Thursday. Might have to wait till after you get back from your honeymoon.
Maz - Great guns hun!! Still using a pillow between my legs at night but I can lay on my side now :dance: and walk :dance: and I should be able to lift the bigger girls again soon.
Liz - My machine doesnt have a lint filter. I just have to get used to it or throw them in the dryer. Usually I dont bother.

Back from PIL's place. We tested DS's blood sugar levels with MIL's diabetes tester pr!ck thingy.. (yeah I do know what I'm talking about.. really) and I think it was a little high.
Mine was only 4.1 so I'm pretty stoked about that!!!! Hopefully I won't get GD this pregnancy cos that'll stuff up my plans for a VBA2C!!!
And yes, got my card - with $60. I'm like, ohh cool I can buy nappies.. bwahahhahahahaha.
Took LOTS of photos at the IL's cos we were outside - so it makes a nice change to have some outside pics. DS wet through his BBB and cover, so changed him into a bumg which he promptly shat in. So I had to put him in his sisters medium GF. And of course it fits fine. Skinny ar$e boy. Of course my MIL doesn't really think anything is wrong with him losing a kg in a month - she thinks its cos he's got taller :wall: Hmmm... usually when they get taller they appear THINNER but they don't LOSE a kilo!!! stupid woman.

CM - thanks too .. shes had a few BT now and still more to come , and more dietry restriction to come aswell we are just working on the main ones for now . PEAD and DR both think shes allergic to gluten , but the pead.dietician is on a wait list so shes being treated as a gluten intolerent until a full diagnosis is made.
its goon be hard finding a gluten free and dairy free cake with a caterpillar theme for her 1st bday . lol .. im just going to order her a special cupcake and then just get a normal cake for everyone else ...

Yeah bout an hour and a half since his last thing to eat - and it was 7.7. Mine was 4.1. DH was about 6.6 (or 6.4 can't quite remember).:
Lea - My mum is gluten intolerant, so she eats the gluten free stuff from the natural health food store up here on the coast, they have everything!! sausage rolls are most awesome. Plus the fish and chip shop around the corner from us here also has gluten free bbq chook (stuffing usually isn't gluten free) plus all their fish and chips are guaranteed to be gluten free too. I think its becoming more the norm. I lived on the diet for about 6 months when I was younger cos they thought it was my problem, but my problem was IBS. Hope they sort her diet out soon :hug:
Maz - thanks for the reminder about the lint brush - did think of that in the middle of the night - darn wake-ups due to pg. but forgot this morning:wall:. Had to go and find the darn thing but it's working a treat. :dance: mind you I'm going thru quite a number of lint sticky sheet papers. Oh well, will just have to remember not to put them together next time without a lingerie bag between them.
