BG, your baby is so cute, and almost 2 months old now too. Goes so fast....

My bubba is trying to get teeth, aside from him being so sad, I DONT WAN' HIM TO GROW UP
He had been going through such a good patch and his gummy smile is so cute, AND NOW HE HAS GROWN OUT OF ALL HIS SMALL NAPPIES

On the upside, we dont seem to get panadol wees here, so no probs with cloth. He actually did a big smelly poo in the brand new eco bub and it was all panadol grey and nasty, but no stain.
The other upside is that I got medium eco bubs and bubbble bubs and he prob needs to put on another kg for them to be ok, so I have put them away, soooo in love with my baby legs tho.

    CM, hang in there

    Hey Maz. missed ya

Hey Kat and Lea and the 2 Mels and Esy and Gigi and everyone else, hope you all have a nice day
    xx

well i picked up my medium itti bittis today so on my way to the cloth world.

Now to build my stash, as i dont think 8 ittis, 1 magical and 2 bbh fitted will quiet work for full time.

Thinking of maybe some maybe 6 more magicals and 2 more fitted and maybe 6 more itti bittis

    hey ladies

just a quickie - have any of you had bubbas who's thighs got too chunky for certain nappies, only to find that when they walk they slim down a bit and they fit again?

My medium gf's are digging into her thighs too much, i want to cry!

wohb - beetlebum inside out - its a PERFECT fit and its a large!

Kitt3n - I didn't find this with nappies as DS was already walking when we started cloth. But I definitely noticed a huge difference in the "chub" part of the leg once he began walking. BIG difference. Hold on to those nappies!

Howdy. My computer is hit an miss this is the first time its turne on in 3 days of trying

I got home from BG's following the Christening, and discovered DH had tried to "help" by washing my bucket load of nappys. With a red doona cover.

    *deep breaths*

So I go down to the dupermarket and buy a packet of stuff to get colour runs out, then crap myself as Im not sure whether its OK to use or not, and its my GFs that he's dyed pink

So after consulting with Maz (thanks!) I gave it a go and then stripwashed them and they've come up a treat. There is one cover where I can see the pales pink spot, but if you didnt know, it loks like its supposed to be that way.

oooh the little boy is awake again!

OH NO! Bad DH! I know he was trying to help but oh no oh no oh noooooooo. lol
Glad you sorted it out hon, you're probably the only one that can see that little pink spot.

Oh you were at E's baptism? Were u in BG's photos? I love putting a face to names.

Got a miserable DS today. Twisted his ankle n can't walk on it. An almost 2yr old not able to walk - he's devastated. Clingy n whingey, just what mummy needs when recovering from a vomit-bug.

Work fab over night so I'm getting some more for that but won't be good for day time unless I'm bumming out at home the crotch hangs down between her thighs and it looks like she's packed her nappy full of poo !

But when I own so many bbh it does nt really count as fluffy
    mail lol

Haven't got my secret nappy yet but when I do it'll be on FB!!

thanks for all the compliments for my girl - i think she's just divine (but i'm somewhat biased!)

CM - Rayray, Raven and I missed the BB photos (though i ended up in heaps of others!!) - we were in the "parents room" feeding our kidlets at the time. we decided to have a retreat for the BF mummy's - and put change table, activity mat etc in there - poor DH lost his rumpus room/bar - but didn't matter! we had comfy place to feed (lounge suite in there) and it was quieter for the bubbas. meant we missed some of the fun the others had - but it kept our kidlets calm which was more important.

after reading some stuff earlier in this thread in regards to rotavirus (is that the one?? the live virus vaccine at 8weeks) - what is the best to do with MCN's? DD's godparents didn't realise we were using cloth nappies and bought a packet of huggies - do you think it's worth putting her in sposies for a few days - or can someone suggest what to do with MCNs/flats (happy to use just flats cos i know they will take more of a beating than MCN's!). if we don't use the huggies i'll take them to a shop and get store credit or something and buy her something new...

Aww BG I would have loved to see everyone. Recognised a few names I've seen around the forum though which was great. I'm just one of those people who love to have a face for the people I'm talking to so regularly lol I've requested to add u to FB too ETA: Ok no I didn't. I just went to and I can't for some reason? lol

Lea - glad to hear DH's first official day went well! Here's to more of that in the future!!

Sweetpea - Good to hear hon! I started my stash slowly so i know how you feel.

mzcatieboo - ignore all of the negative opinions towards cloth. Your child - your decisions!

I put Oscar in sposies after the roatvirus vaccine, but as long as you wash the cloth in hot water it should be OK.

I had trouble finding a wash on my FP aquasmart that would do a warm wash, not a super hot one, and I know yours is the same - I used the stain wash for chocolate.

    Hi girls,

Kitt3n Emily has really slimmed down after being on the move so don't dispare! Do you go into the city very often? I'm going back to work next week (3 days a week) if you come into the city we should meet up for lunch?

BG your little E looked gorgeous!!!! The gown looked so beautiful on. How nice to have so many lovely BB girls there! I agree with ray a hot wash should be ok for the MCN's.

Lea can't wait to see the "secret" nappy!!

    No nappy news for us.

    Hi all.
BG - E looked divine in her gown, looks like you had a great day.

oh Lachlan has fallen asleep in a pea pod ....not sure how that's going to end up, but the bonus is Dh put it on him while i was out, so at last he is using mcns even though the peapods are my backups.
We are still battling external thrush, of to the gp to get something for it now, seems like Lachlan really doesn't handle antibiotics well. So i am just going to be making sure i wash in hot water.
Poor bub has had a busy week, he has cut three new teeth and started walking..

no i dont but i would love to come in to meet you!! that sounds lovely its a bus trip for me so its nice to go into the city for lunch sometimes

I am just bummed - i wanted to keep her beetlebums "pristine" but they are just an absolutely perfect fit (dare i say even better than sugar shots?!). But i am slowly learning that she keeps changing, some of her cute tooshies just arent doing it at the moment. I have noticed that the ones that fit her better have more snaps. (and that is what ss and bb offer!)

wohb - sandman and maz cover - wool cover has been needing a wash for over a week... maybe tomorrow....

    welcome mzcatieboo!

RayRay - commiserations, i'm glad the colour run packet worked for you. i have a packet in my cupboard, for that kind of thing too.

Brigsy - i bought the Rota Virus vax for bilby, and we STAYED in mcn for it, didn't affect the nappies at all. her nappies were washed at 60 degrees always.

Kitten - bilby started out as
    ** little chicken legs (0 - 4 months),
**then changed abruptly to Michelin Man chubba thighed bubba - three big rolls of fat on each thigh, nothing but sidesnaps would fit and achieve leg seal with those suckers! (4 - 11 months),
**then started crawling at 11 months, the three rolls, became two, then one, by 14 months, she started walking and was Ms Slim Thighs once again.

so yes, becoming mobile changed the shape of her legs alot.
but the width of her crotch stayed the same, whether she was chubby or slim.
the sidesnappers, narrow crotched nappies suited her at ALL these stages, i think, due to how adjustable they are.

but yes, the settings used, changed, at each stage.

not sure if that answers you or not.

i have met plenty of people, whose bubs did not change shape dramatically, like bilby's did, at the time of becoming mobile - it's that old hairy chestnut again EVERY CHILD IS DIFFERENT!!! (not what you wanted to hear, heh?).

LOL, i'm sure, all us mums could really do with a crystal ball! Just to help with buying decisions!!!

sweetpea, a cheap, very useful option is to get yourself stocked up on bamboo trifolds, they are SO useful. have a look what booroi has on special. You stuff pockets with them, boost night nappies with them, they are just SO useful, at all ages of nappying. Trifolds are never seen, but they are important part of mcn, soaking up heaps of wee. not glam, but so so useful. You'll buy lots of pockets and aio that have microfibre as the absorbency layers ("free insert yadayada"), that you will end up either swapping over to bamboo trifolds, or boosting the sewn in microfibre, with bamboo.

wottbbb: blueberry trainers with longies, lucky those longies keep her so toasty, still going thru the stage of not sleeping under the covers. i would be SO COLD i would wake up if that was me. i sleep with two doonas, an electric blanket and head UNDER the covers. Until bilby crawls in with me at 3am. Then she becomes my little hot water bottle LOL. half asleep, bedhair gloriously fuzzy and curly, i should be grumpy at 3am, but she says "booby mummy" very slowly, slurred, half asleep, eyes only half open, and my face is one big smile of love.
