hi ladies, yes a new thread and I don't think I even posted in the last one I read all of your posts and keep learning and I had to say that my fav baby items are still my nappies! I just loooove my bamboo hault prefolds even if they do take forever to dry! Anyway I have a question. Is there a particular fleece as in micro fleece or any other kinds of regular fleeces which are best for liners or are there some which I should stay away from? I am thinking of just buying some fleece and cutting it up rather than paying for already made ones. TIA

u can make liners out of any kind of material. but just remember that bub may have a reaction to man made fibres like microfleece.
i use raw silk liners in DD2's nappies and i buy them premade because im slack!

Hey, some exciting news! Have 6 Bonnibuns pockets and 1 Ecobubs pocket (not the wool tho) on the way, hand me downs from SiL, so have hardly been used! To be fair, I bought them for her in the first place, but whatever! More fluff!

Cherished - whatever you decide, try to go for a knit fabric or something that won't fray (like silk would) otherwise you will have to edge it so that you can wash them without them fraying all over your house. Alternatively, zigzag edge them on your nifty sewing machine, or come over and use my overlocker You need so little for liners that it would be cheap enough to have a few of everything!

Cherished- I use fleece liners I made myself. They are just regular polar fleece. I bought a couple of metres cheap as it was the end of a roll in the odds and bods bin. Super cheap and so easy to cut up. They have pilled on one side but I put the other side to his bot and they work well. Personally I didn't use liners before starting solids though- BF poop washes out so well. Though I should have used them in the first few days to catch the menconium- that stains forever!

#1 - Soooo onto this - my early days liners are black! I actually bought it for SiL, who can't stand the thought of stains, and figured it's quite a good idea.

audax.. how is silk with the sewing? I've been thinking of making some silk liners but am too scared I'll wreck them, I keep thinking the silk would be too slippery? Also what kind of thread would you use? Would you use nylon or cotton?

Hey guys - ooh meow we are very close in our EDD's and we are planning a HB too!!

I am waiting on some fluff for the new bub - more kissaluvs and some more beetlebum pockets are on the way for miss laa!

she has her first ever case of a little more than a bit of redness as far as nappy rash is concerned - last night she did a poo and we didn't realise (nor did she tell us!) - by the time we changed her it was RED! Slowly going away but damn I feel bad!
