woo! i got fluffy mail today as well! only prefolds so nothing too fluffy really but i have more coming later this week oh i cant wait!! two of the ones ive got coming this week are bumblebee and giraffe patterns hehehe

teresa you can give it a go without doing so, if you find they leak through then give them some lanolin The BBH ones are really thick. I don't lanolise my loveybums ones either (LOVE the loveybums)

i just washed all my new nappies including the wool cover (on cold gentle wash of course) and i think it has shrunk! is that normal?

Maz, if you do, they are welcome to them for free once I can replace them with the larger size, which will be in 2-3 weeks.
Some of the inserts need to be fixed or repalced, (DH left them in a nappy bucket for a week and there are a few very thin sections as a result, a d a couple of holes) but most of them are ok. Just not willing to charge money for them.

OH P hon she will be over the moon...I'll make some new boosters for them ... to easy. Are you going to get side snapper or front snapper ones???

I only ever hand wash my woolies...bugger that its shrunk ther eis somethign you can get that releases the shrinking..I just cant remember what its called atm.

This kid of mine atm...he's got a bit of blistering happening....need to make somemore velour liners for him I think

I have kinda crashed in here and stuck my nose in. have been around for a while - was haunting the larger family thread but its so quiet it there lately and you guys have more chatter. Been a flat cloth user on and off for years, was not allowed to use for hip probs in one of my kids and back again now in the world of mcns. :0)

We've finally done it............... we are now using cloth day and night. I ran out of disposables which I had been using of a night time last Tues night and made the decision to use those night nappies I had sitting in the basket before she grew out of them rather then ducking up to the shop for another packet. We had a leak out of last nights, but I think thats because it hasn't been washed enough. It's made no difference to her sleeping pattern so I'm happy to continue with them of a night.

I now need to strip wash up all her newborrn size and sell them which is kind of sad, just waiting for this horrible rainy weather to move along so I can sun dry them. I wish MCN's had of been around when I had my boys, they are so much easier then terry squares not to mention so much cuter.

Yay mollycat for full time cloth!! We started out using cloth full time from birth but at about 16 months when our son starting "almost" sleeping through we switched to disposables overnight as I would feel in his nappy as he woke and it felt wet or clammy or cold and I think that was waking him. Once we changed to disposables he started sleeping. Prior to that he was waking to feed anyway but at that point he didn't seem to actually want to be waking up IYKWIM. We'll do full time cloth with the next baby too and see what happens about overnight. We buy eco-disposables and I've decided I don't care about using one a day anymore.

I've started repairing my retired bumgenius nappies. I'm no sewer so I'm not finding it super easy but it's also a lot simpler than I expected. I think I'm going to get some bamboo prefolds for baby#2 but will wait for the next nappy hunt in September to buy them.

we are trying to get DD1 TT over night so ill only have 1 in nappies ....

Hey there again - gotta ask as I have been hanging around here and a few others places - what is the great nappy hunt???? I have oblivously been in my own little world using cloth for many years and am I missing out on something???

Mollycat - I would be interested in any newborn/small nappies you maybe selling? What brands?

Great down under nappy hunt is where you get clues and find icons with the chance of winning prizes. It's scarily addictive. you might have come across unusual pink icons with "GDUNH Mar '10" on. They were from the last one.

halltribe - i'll pm you. a lot of the newborn ones were ones that I made myself, which worked really well as bub was only 6lb4oz born, there are a few bought ones as well. I'll have to go down to the garage to find out exactly what is there, but that won't be til tomorrow as I have a meeting tonight and start work pretty soon so don't have time to do that now. There's a combination of fitteds and AIO's and a few covers as well.

Halltribe - we used side snappers for tanks hips....worked a treat, helped bring them in and straighten them up. He had very bad bow legs and his hips were really badly placed. Our PEAD was talking about putting shunts in his legs and a cast for his hips if they were no better at age 3....6 months after he told me that tank was straight and he was amazed.

I have a basket full of wet nappies that need drying and its so cold and wet here that I doubt its going to happen in a hurry
