Hey Epacris!!! Nice to see you in here. I had no idea the other ladies had relinquished their moderator roles. That's a great page you and Raven have set up there.

LOL Tali you are doing very well. I was so terribly addicted till I found out what I really loved, in the end I guess that was part of the reason why I set up a buy/sell used mcn kinda store........... all closed now though.

I love our stash, and it's great that our little squish is to be a girl, it means they all get to be used all over again. But our whole stash is pretty much the same brands, regardless of sizes..... I like to keep everything in sets of 6 or 12..... bit anal :P

Hi ladies I wanted to drop in with a couple of questions and a BIG thank you to all the girls who have helped me prior to bubs being born with all my questions on MCN's I am LOVING my cloth! I have ended up using prefolds with BBH's covers NB size which have been really good so far and I think bubs will be able to wear them for a while longer even with a growth spurt. I had some bamboo terry prefolds which were great for using with a snappy but now bubs is a bit bigger (and I think they have fluffed up more or shrunk in the wash) the snappy doesn't go around and they seem to be a bit bulky compared to my bamboo fleece fold ups which are the BBH's boosters. I think I like them the best as they dry faster being a single layer and the cover feels dry to touch after the bamboo is saturated so it only needs airing. I've also tried some on my microfiber boosters inside a cover with a microfleece liner on top and that works well as it's a slim line nappy and absorbs enough for my little bub at the moment however the cover feels and look wet after a wee so I don't like to reuse it so I end up going through more covers.

I haven't had any leaks with the cloth but I was wondering if anyone found the covers with leg gussets better? I imagine as bub gets bigger so will the poos so the BBH's mightn't cut it in the containment side of things with a prefold inside that isn't snappy'd

Anyway my MIL gave me a sewing machine as a baby gift so yippppppie I now get to make my own stuff I would like to know how fast cotton velour dries is it like a regular cotton top or does it take much longer like bamboo? I'm thinking of making some wipes out of it as I'm currently using chux cloths and throwing them in the wash which has been fantastic especially as they come out of the wash pretty much dry and they are soft when wet. But I wouldn't mind moving onto something a bit nicer if they will also dry fast and be really soft of bubs bottom.

What are the best websites to buy fabrics from? I might go online shopping today and get some stuff for the wipes and even some more bamboo to make my own prefolds YAY

Fluffy mail ! Some lushies from SHP - oh gosh they really stand up to their name!!

cherished 1 - the cotton velour dries much faster but does not stay nearly as nice and soft and certainly loses it's luster, unlike the OBV. I have found that the best wipes are sherpa on one side (nice and grippy, yet still wonderfully soft on lil bums) and OBV on the other - for the "polish" so to speak. I have no idea on the sites where to buy stock from, I am far too hopeless to ever try making my own! lol

oh enjoy that petite teresa. I bought 2 in NB size for bubs and they were my fav thing to try out but due to snaps I couldn't get a proper fit He's worn both of them maybe 3 times each as he now fits into them on the last snap so no doubt he will grow out of them really quickly. I wish they made them with velcro so I could have really used them. I loved them so much I think I would have bought 20 of them for my next bub LOL

Cmarfol: quoting my mum "it's scary how bloody smart she is". My sister asked if DD could put the lid on the nappy cream tube for her and my jaw dropped because DD comprehended it and actually managed first time! She put it on properly and screwed it up tight too! Usually we just give her an instruction and she does it first time. As I said to DP, we have to watch what we say/do around her now! Going to wait 2 weeks before I try the full time TTing because we just got back from a 2 week holiday. last time we traveled her digestive system got scrambled for a week and one day she was pooing midnight, the next would be say 10am and such. Poor pixie is teething so a tad blocked up right now.

What do antibiotics do to cloth?

My little one has been on AB and i just kept her in cloth. I have been using washable liners just because she has had lots of poos and her butt is getting sore so using some cream.

Kate- antibiotics don't do anything, they just gave DS the runs so I was changing him every hr. To make matters worse he was on them cos he had an op on his bottom.

You could try to sell the peapods for cheap in one of the fb groups or give them to someone who is just starting out? There are some nappy libraries around that might be able to use them, maybe, or a charity like backpacks4aussie kids...?

Hoping for some fluffy mail today... that or a baby... either/or lmao.
