It's not open or raised at all. It hasn't distorted the skin in any way. just a hot red patch that's flush with the rest of the skin. I change her every hour because she wees so much so i don't leave nappies on too long. it definately appears exactly where any poo touches her skin. will stay red for a while and feel hot it's really strange. I've been using facewashers with a drop of lavendar oil and water on to clean her rather then just water. it seems to coincide with whenever they treat the water here. my scalp gets massive sores on and dd gets a little cradle cap i just pieced that together last night. maybe just super sensitive skin?
CL I was up at my sister's last week, her newborn had a little patch on her bum of raw skin, looked like someone had peeled the first few layers off with a peelerjust a little spot about the size of my pinky fingernail. Not sure if that's the same kind of thing?
ETA: Suz1- I put a couple of srops of lavendar oil through the wash every few days and that's like a canestan rinse. Last time I tried any curash stuff DD broke out in a rash so I'm hesitant at using any of the products. she was scratching 'til she bled on her legs. I have no idea what triggered it. Healing creams that create a little barrier seem to do the trick here.

DD is asleep and not wriggling for once. I think her bits were irritating her in her sleep the last few nights I smothered her in the moogoo MSN cream and she settled almost straight away. I even put some on that nasty itchy patch on my cheek and it's BLISS. I haven't felt like clawing my face off for the last 90 mins! Awesome stuff! Definately sticking to that from now on!
WOCB: BBH pink magicall with bamboo trifold insert but it looks like last wear for her. she's doing her best plumbers impression!

Forced you hey?I don't think it'd take much lovey! Officially in love with MSM cream. DD's bum is showing no signs of redness now! she's less grizzly too. The poor thing is teething so badly that she won't even eat cheese, biscuits or banana! They are 3 of the foods she will eat no matter what!

We just had our first ever nappy fail in an Abby Gro. I've been using them over 12 months and never had a poosplosion. DD is getting her 2 yea old molars errupting and has the trots. It was almost a tidal wave I swear. She's having her second bath of the day because of poo incidents!

Must be the day for nappy fails. I heard the words "he's got poo on his hands" while hanging out the washing. He's undone the side snaps of his CT hemp fitted, got out of it, then poo'ed on the rug. I'd only put it on him 2 mins previously & I swear I'd done it up correctly. Time to put shorts or a cover on everytime I think as I knew he could undo velcro, didn't know he could do snaps.

HAHA! *Has visions of DP being swallowed by a tidal wave of poo* No, the tidal wave happened in the loungeroom but I caught it with a towel before the mojority of it landed. It was more like a mudslide really. It just worked out the DP turned off the shower and hosed her off with the attachment to the bath tap before resuming his shower. Her shoes even copped some so they got hosed too. Lucky it's over 40 today and they dried in 20 mins.
ETA: Snowy. DD did that about 2 times but hates making a mess so she soon decided it was a bad idea. She has however streaked outside after her bath and decided to poo au naturale on the grass.......
