my maz order is ready! squeeeee!!
i dont come in here in over a week and look how much its changed!
hi to everyone.
no new nappy news here. still waiting for my name to come up with envious and its looking pretty close now :leap:
WOHB - bbh petite in ruby. very close to needing to go to larges. not bad considering the little mite is 13kg!
Gosh ladies... It's quiet!
Well I received my maz order today. I think im in love. Just need the little bum to get here now!
not long now helle and you will be able to try out your new fluff! :D
=( I just lost my post =( =( ...oh man... you dont realise (well you probably do) how much energy it takes me to do anything atm....
so...now to remember what i posted...i might just jump to my question rather than all the buildup =P
basically i want a main stash of nappies that i use all the time - and ones that i will use for ages. and then ill have a few 'pretties' which will be custom patterns that will be for special occassions.
I've been looking on the net and i like the sound of the BBH magic all multi fits. cause they look like they will last for years. (growth wise). will i be right if i just buy a whole bush of these? or should i really buy one of every different types? i'd rather buy the nappy and use it...im not keen on getting different types to then not use them..
those magic all multi fits are all in 1s, i like the idea of all in 2s... can you still add boster things into all in 1s??
(oh and i plan on using flats for the first few weeks and then go to the mcn.)
please help me set up my stash!!! (i know its early days but as i described in my lost post i plan on buying a few at a time rather than them all at once.)
Hiya Teirae :)
My stash is set up as follows for my soon to be newborn
12 Newborn Prefolds, 6 New Born Covers half PUL and half Minkee, 4 Grovia Newborn AIO's
3 Microfibre Boosters
3 Bamboo Boosters
12 Infant Prefolds, 6 Small Covers (half PUL and Half Minkee),1 HH Pocket, 3 BBH Magic all Pockets, 2 Bear Bottom Pockets, and 7 Little Britches Pockets.
(Plus all the inserts and boosters that go along with it)
Quality wise, I really love my Little Britches. I am probably least happy with the Happy Heiny there is nothing actually "wrong" with it, but it does have that mass produced feel IYKWIM, so that is why I only have one beucase I wanted a cow print. I tend to prefer the press studs over velcro so almost all of mine are prestuds.
Hope this helps :) This set up was recommended, especially the newborn prefolds becuase they need more changes, and the prefolds cost alot less and can be used to boost other nappies later on. I'm going to get a few more new born prefolds just so I dont have to wash every day.
is it worth buying the prefolds?? or will i be right with just flats?? i thought the only difference was prefolds were that...the exact same as flats but already folded. or do they do more than that?
You can use either, the Prefolds are smaller and trimmer than terry flats and can be dry pailed with the rest of your MCN's rather than soaked as far as I'm aware. Rather than folded, they are usually divided into 3 sections, with the middle section having the most layers and the outers less so more padding where it's needed. As opposed to the terry flats which are just one peice of cloth.
They are also really cost effective, 12 costing approx $40 where as MCN's start at $25 each unless you get them on sale, which is why I opted for half of each. Covers are also way cheaper, you can get new BBH PUL covers on ebay for like $6, and fleece ones for about $15, but I do like the MCN's as well.
Oh I also forgot my night nappies, I have 4 Popin Bamboo MCN. They are much bulkier but also that is what is needed at night :D
If your interested Daily Baby Deals often have nappies for sale, so it may be a good way to get some differerent types are lower than retail cost. Also a few places do Laybuy which is how I got most of my stash. Nappy Bucket, Baby Bee Hinds etc as I know how much the outlay can be daunting :)
Thanks so much!!
I'll check out that site =)
i used flanny flats for the first few weeks just folded another one on top when she peed more then we had bamboo prefolds then we moved onto MCN we use dragonfly magik GK pockets and small BBH magicalls and a few small ittis
we got rid of the smalls at about 6 months and all her nappies except for one are osfm just hope she doesnt outgrow them but ds still wears nappies he fit in at 8 months old and he is 2 and a half
but i have skinny bubbas lol
i guess it depends on what u prefer to do but i know the flats were easy and i just dry pailed i didnt soak them i never used terry flats though but i know someone who only uses flats her bubba is 1.5 :)
thanks TJ, yea i would be using the terry flats...
those dragonfly magik ones are where i think i will get most of my 'pretties' from =) i love some of those designs. are they good? which others ones are they most like?
So quiet!
No fluffy news here except i got the paris peechee in the last firefly stocking which i was so excited about! And a new my mcns custom too.
Going to do a mini destash soon just to sell some of my unused nappies :)
Still LOVING cloth <3
Sent from my iPhone so sorry for the spelling and punctuation!!
Geezo talk about quiet!
I've been slack. For many reasons.
I think I'm gonna just use bubblebubs from now on. They are so easy, a great fit, I love how the poop just rinses straight off the velour and I like that the inners aren't White.
Think I'm gonna sell all my workhorse brands to fund some new ones. I'll keep most of my pretty ones except the ones I dont like.
Wowb- starkers. Bad teething acid poo rash :(
I've been flat out of late. Little dude is growing rapidly (even more so this week, damn wonder week AND growth spurt). I am currently loving abby gro on him because they don't come down to his knees. He wees entirely too much for flanny flats now so i bought terry flats for home. I am trying to find a fold that's super absorbant at the front because he wees like a trooper but is still really tiny. he literally hasn't cracked 5kg yet. I am mostly putting Abby Gro or tutto on him though because heaps of other stuff is too bulky and my little man likes rolling lol. Today he was DETERMINED to roll onto his tummy and he got there after 5 mins. I try to use my flats at home and others while out now because easier to dry flats and doesn't matter if they sit in the bucket in the heat.
Fluff news, bought a ****e load of BBH petites second hand for $10 each and they look pretty shmick for second hand. I bought mediums.
WOLB: Maz prefold boosted with 2 CT inserts and Maz skull and crossbones cover (my favourite!)
no nappy news here. bought a fair few bbh the other day so just waiting for them to arrive. i got a mixture of the multi fits, petites and the magic alls. should be set now until tt'ing. plus i am hoping my name comes up soon with envious!
FLUFFY MAIL! :leap:

Wow teresa thats a big fluffy mail package!
Well I have sold 4 CGR's, 2 miamoos and trying to sell a pop in original... Have too many nappies! Lol.
Wocb: figlirie (sp?) butterfly cgr but soon to be something else!
Sent from my iPhone so sorry for the spelling and punctuation!!
bex - the mediums are getting too small on him so i got a combination of larges and osfm to accommodate him plus if we have any more babies! will try the larges on him once they are all washed. they should fit him :D
WOHB - pop in dream dri in pumpkin
No news for me either. Just waiting for my littlest bum to arrive :)
Oh! I do need to get some snappis!
I'm not a nappy stalker at all but I keep finding myself stalking the cgr website for the monkey. Me want!
bad idea WMM just saying ;)
You've reminded me I want to get some more newborn fitteds - think they were spunky butts - Terry type things that were fitteds but needed a snappi to fasten and some more maz newborn covers ... Hmm wonder when I'll find the time to do that .....
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk so sorry if I'm confusing you ;)

Hi ladies! I've just pulled out my stash again and sold what I dont want and ordered a whole heap of new nappies to try. Just managed to get a magicall on my 22 month old (after him refusing to wear mcn's) and have a DM on my 9 week old. So I guess I'm back on the horse! :)

:)
cant seem to get issy bear cottons to work but the nights work really well for her weird lol might try the minky's maybe get extra inserts
WOJKGB: bbh night (seems to hate mcn at night pockets and fitteds get changed before 12 at night :( )
WOJLBB: issybear nights
I had to go hunting for this thread. What do you stuff your pockets with?
I bought some 2nd-hand bumgs (thanks leckert) and they have nice fluffy inserts, made me realise my inserts have been through the dryer a few too many times. No wonder they leak. I've been killing myself trying to figure out why they don't hold as much as they did when new (they are 3 years old and have been worked heavily.)
I'm using disposables at night because my cloth naps just don't last all night, and I'm already awake too often at night I don't want to change nappies. Does a disposable-equivalent night nappy for a big wee machine (non-bamboo anything due to allergy) exist?

Popins with the night time inserts have been recommended to me for a wee machine :)
I'm confused about popins, do they have bamboo in them or not?

Depends which one you get. The Dreami Dri has microfibre, the original has bamboo
i have 2 of the dream dri's! they are awesome! the night boosters are bamboo so that combined with the two soakers of microfibre make an awesome night nappy for a heavy wetter! i can get 13 hours out of one before it leaks :D
Oh. So they work without the bamboo booster?

Yups :)
They have the outer case
2 seperate snap in inserts (they use press studs not a pocket) and then you can get an additional "dri nights" booster which goes around the 2 snap in inserts. Makes it really absorabant, it does end up on the large side but for night time it dosent really matter.
fluffy mail yesterday :leap:
some fitted newborns (forgot the brand atm - laying down with feet on chair at school due to lightheadedness so can't just go check :() and some small maz covers
Hi girls
I'm tentatively dipping my toes in. Had a nice long MCN education session with the gorgeous Epacris yesterday! I bought some Cushie Tushies at the markets on the weekend for $15 each and have had some 2nd hand MCNs given to me. I showed DP and he said he hoped we would buy her some new ones too - so I immediately popped online and spent over $200 on a few specials (BBHs and Cheeky Butts)! ;)
Looking forward to giving it all a go in the New Year!
