We're doing overnight as well, have been since the end of week one. I'm finding the pre folds with a BBH cover last for most of the night, 'cause we aren't really waking, just stirring to feed or swap sides. She's only doing a poo once we're ready to wake up so her bottom looks fine. I'm going with it while it works, no leaking and good sleep is a good indication for me!

We did overnight from birth, but my baby was not a prolific poo-er, so we didn't have to worry about code-browns. A prefold and booster was often enough for us too, but the Bubblebubs Bamboo Delight was the best option by far. And it doesn't look stupid on a newborn.
Well, my Lil Joey Rumparooz have been retired, :( They were starting to look too small and we had a leak this morning. My baby is growing up!
The Cheeky Butts Minis still have a few weeks to go at least, they were def value for money. Pre folds at night with a cover are working well. I'm putting a Sandys on over the pre fold to hold it in place, but that's still dry in the morning. She doesn't poo overnight, that's from 7pm-7am, so the pre fold really needs to hold heaps of wee only. She's only waking occasionally during that time, lucky me! I guess less feeding means less weeing too. She sure makes up for both input and output during the day.

Thought I'd come back in since I have DS in MCN :). I started with prefolds and covers but transitioning to cushie tushies atm. He is a really heavy wetter though, something I'm not used to at all. What does everyone use when they have a heavy wetter?
Oh and I got my first fluffy mail since DS was born - two baby beehinds that I got on sale.

I have gone to cloth overnight too. Using bbh. Was on the smalls. Tonight I have used a medium. The smalls were just too small!

I've just finished building my base stash and swapped over for daytimes, night time may follow later but for now Alex sleeps better with a sposie. Even after just a couple of weeks of mainly cloth they feel weird on him.
I find Lilly in Little Britches pockets work well overnight, rarely any leakage and she is a heavy wetter!
We don't need to use sposies anymore unless we go away on a trip somewhere and its for convienece. I find they really irritate her skin so I try not to use them much.
Ck he may take a little while to get use to the extra padding on his bum when he lays down dow you think? I know they tend to be chunkier than sposies.

Heh, I meant that the sposies feel weird when patting his bum - all crinkly and like there's nothing there :) He actually prefers having his cloth ones on, and seems to have adjusted to the bit of extra bulk quite well.
Had to laugh when he had his CHN appointment - she'd never seen MCNs before, I had him in an itti bitti tutto and she was fascinated by them when I took it off to be weighed. Of course, that day happened to be the one when he was wearing his robot print one.

I have a BBH NN that has been hung out for FIVE days and it still isn't dry. To be fair, it has been raining, but it was hung on an undercover line. Grrrrr.

I have a packet of the Eco sposies that we used a handful of Nappies from when she was first born. None since and she won't fit them within a couple of weeks. What do I do with them?? My sister will be using sposies so I'm tempted to pass them on to her with all the small clothes. I just can't bring myself to use them on H!
My fave nappy ATM is probably the Swaddlebees pocket (applix). I'm so tempted to buy more but I don't need any! Plus, I've caught the babywearing wrap bug and have already spent enough on a new addiction this week. :hide:

swaddlebees are great Jen up there with the rummperoozs haven't had a explosion or leak from one of them as yet. still love the ittis but find the tuttos are not the best fit for Leon as compared to the bittis.

I'm very excited, we went a whole weekend camping in cloth! Real national park no toilets or showers kind of camping too. It couldnt have gone better :)

Yep, that's all I did and then just chucked them through a bit of a more intense wash when we got home cos there was a seriously epic poo in the middle of the weekend.

My first thought was "wow, you're game" but then the thought occurred to me that depending on where you're camping, you'd probably have to lug any grotty disposables out as well anyway, so not much difference really :)
I'm planning a trip up to my mum's farm for easter weekend, going to keep DS in cloth but will have access to a washing machine and clothesline. My mum is fascinated by MCN, as in her day it was terry flats for the bum and flannel flat for the shoulder. I asked her how they managed with overnights, she says they used to just put two nappies on, one on top of the other. I think she also likes to sort of rub it in step-SIL's nose a teeny bit because SSIL uses sposies and leaves them on until they're absolutely cactus, as a result her kids always have horrid nappy rash. DS is in cloth and is changed regularly, and has never had nappy rash at all (so far).

Lil Joeys are all packed away for my sister now, along with the tiny NB clothes. At least I don't have to store anything now! Even if by some unprecedented accident I fell pg again I can just get them all back.

on board with driver hurry up lol i hate having to wait till the afternoon for my parcels its a gorgeous nappy and i want it so i can put it on her lol its a twinkle twinkle little pants and we had a medium it was just too small and now a large is arriving today so excited lol its her only rufflebum i thought we would limit our special nappies coz we arent exactly rolling in it i have seen a lot of women with only one in cloth that have about twice as many as we have here nothing against anyone here who might have a lot but i got into cloth for the price factor ive probably only spent $400 give or take on all our nappies i buy second hand and sell before i buy more so that might be why i havent spent much but i have spent $45 on a custom and bought a few new Dragonfly Magiks but i got some second hand and know they work awesomely on jazzy
Jamie has done all wees in the toilet for 3 days now and today hes done a poo in the potty and one in the toilet but he has been naked the whole time now to get him to wear undies and try to get him off night nappies didnt think it would be that easy lol

Jen - we gave our pack of sposies to a local young mums charity. I already have the 5 sposies we'll need for the next baby, been collecting samples, so no packets required!
sepata - good on you! We did a 16-day camping epic when DD was 4 months old, clothie bummed all the way! We just used laundromats when we got to major towns, so about every three days. And a few just-wet ones got rinsed out and dried as they were.
Lolpigs, MrsS - I wanna get more LBs, they are so absorbent, dry well and are unkillable! My first one had a broken snap, but once we got that fixed, it has been in use about twice weekly from birth and you wouldn't know. It looks brand new. Apart from a chamomile stain :doh: They are amazing, and they have fit perfectly all the way along. Love love love them.
CK - good on you for steering clear of nappy rash! We've had it pretty badly here this summer, but we went to Sydney and it cleared up really quickly - it was just the revolting Brissie humidity, we couldn't keep her bum dry for love nor money. I use MCNs at my mum's place, terry flats at my MILs. And, although my MIL likes to tell me she's a total pro at cloth nappies, on both of the last two trips DD's nappy has leaked after MIL has put it on. I think it's the snappi that gets her. Next time, remind me to take a few pins for her.
TrippyJ :lol: - I am one of those who has heaps. Of my 60-odd, 6 are pretties, some semi-pretties (prints and stuff) and heaps of workhorses. I buy cheap, and I like having a lot to make life easier.
DH and I were doing some sums on them the other night after I spoke to someone who had a dryer (it's been really wet up here in Brissie) and we reckon it's actually cheaper to buy an extra 20 nappies than to run the dryer even once a fortnight. Our maths is crap (his shouldn't be, he's an engineer) but it makes sense for us.
Meanwhile that BBH NN *still* wasn't dry yesterday. Haven't checked on it today. :lol:

Gotta love Qld humidity Audax, I used to live there. Herein Sydney it's a bit kinder to drying nappies.
Yeah Audax I find LB beat all the other for durability and absorbancy hands down. And they dry really well. Love the fit on them too, they are the most adjustable nappy I have tried. Nappy Bucket do layby too if you need it.

Wahoo! Yeah, they're side snap OSFM, so useful! Not my most adjustable nappies (TotsBots FlexiWrap wins that award) but it's a pretty good allrounder.

So a question for the wise ladies who've been in the cloth game longer than me - what are your recommendations for clothing brands that have space in the butt to accomodate a cloth nappy? I've got part of Lil Boy's winter clothing stash on layby, but he'll probably need a few more bits and bobs...

Pumpkin Patch is good for pants, they have extra room in the butt for cloth nappies. I've been using those but I only buy on special.
I also use Dymples Brand Onsies and Target stuff without any issues.

We've just used best & less shorts and pants for ds with no issues, but we didn't do the more fitted style in long pants (we did trackie style/ fleece pants and not jeans)

Some Bonds stuff (roomies, sloppy joeys) is good. DD is very long in the body, so the big bulgy bum just balances it out, and she can wear regular clothes. The Oishi-M jeans are great over cloth and super cute.
Now, what cloth to pack to take to my Nan's? We're driving, and will be gone for 4.3 days. I could possibly pack enough for the whole time and just wash when I get home. Worth it though? Or just take terry flats.... Oh the decisions!
I haven't noticed clothing issues yet, but DD2's feet are so big it's that end I'm focused on! (seriously, just bought her PP 6-12mth socks and they fit :o)
I have noticed the snaps at the crotch strain when it's time to go up a size, but by then I know it's time to move on anyway. But this could all change when she's a bit bigger, I'm sure!
