A BB member is going to be doing a second hand MCN store very soon so keep an eye on the MPM threads too (Lots of MPMs also do member discount) Popular items stocking (like Maz's) will usually also be announced in there, and you need to be pretty quick for those. They never stay long enough to go cheaper though.

Get as many different brands as you can. Some brands suit some kids better than others.
