I was over sposies for various reasons, and relying on cloth was giving me the irrits, so that's why I gave ECing the plunge. Never looked back. Honestly, it's so worth the mental leap over convention - cost, convenience, distinct lack of handling POO in my life!
I'm not saying this to be smug (can't be bothered being smug), I'm saying it because if it's annoying you enough, look into doing some EC and dropping at least one nappy, sposie or cloth a day. It feels so good! Reading Ingrid Bauer was great for me because I came to understand human elimination needs and it made it so much easier. I helped DS become night continent using that knowledge, and he was 2.5yo, still in Peapods at night (boosted to the all get out) and I was sick of it the nappies, feeling enslaved to them. It's never too late if your child is still in nappies
Food for though. My 19mo is nappy free now and about to go into Family Day Care.
Oh, and I like wipes - I use the WotNot biodegradeables, because I don't need to buy them that often and they're great for so many things.
