MM is a lot more breathable and would have a longer life span. PUL will eventually deteriorate. You may need to replace the elastic eventually but mm will outlast PUL if you're planning on using them for several babies.

I really do love MM for nappies. Honeyboys and Auriels I have are favourites and I've also made several for Caleb myself from it
