bi-carb is absolutly fine to use....no idea who said not to use it..BUT a damn lot of WAHMS i know use it and have been for years!!!! and no probs....
Bamboo should also be generally washed 3 times prior to use for absorbancy issues...would NEVER just prewash anything bamboo once then expect brilliant absorbancy...
won't use powders as MOST tend to now have the brighteners etc..which are a BIG no no for MCN's....
Bi-carb is the base ingredient for most washing powders. It is the other stuff that makes them a no-no. Vinegar is a no-no as is fabric softener.
We are using up the washing powder and dishwasher powder we have and switching it all over to bi-carb. It is much cheaper and no nasty chemicals, just carbon and sodium. The chemical formula is C2Na. Can you imagine how many letters the other powders have?
Cool, well thats good to know!
I was thinking about the bi carb alot after reading this thread. I haven't heard of anyone who does use it TBH, but I don't really know any other mcn users personally either.
I'll be buying some tomorrow.
Jakabella, all the nappies i gave you dont need lots of pre-washing, already done although the BBBH had only had 3 pre-washes and has never been worn so it may not be at its most absorbant yet
