Bella - thanks hon, that's pretty much what DH and I just did. I did shed a tear or two though, it was awful. We gave her the Pain Stop then another dose of her antibiotics. It was pretty awful but we got it all in. I hate these mummy moments!

I checked the Pain Stop ingredients and it doesn't appear to have any antihistamine in it. She had the day time version today and was fine so the codeine shouldn't be a problem. I think the night one is just stronger, hence the need for script - I think!

She's asleep finally. It took us 3 hours to get her down despite her being shattered. I know a lot of mums go through a lot worse than this but as my DD is normally such a bubbly little independent girl, this has knocked me for six. You girls have really made me feel better though
